Heists

 

Hello everyone! A lot of the community has been asking about heists recently, specifically why they aren't running and when they'll be back up. However before we start to make any changes to the Heist system we'd like to get your opinion on it and certain aspects of Heists to see if we can make them more enjoyable for everyone!

 

If you're perhaps new to the server and don't know what a Heist is, here is a link to the Heist Information Thread:

Currently this is how heists would operate if they were in running. If you would simply be able to leave your opinion on these rules and guidelines that would be great! Perhaps you could even suggest how certain rules could be changed or altered to make the system more balanced and enjoyable. Other than that give the poll above a few clicks and I hope you are having a good day c:.

Fix war raids first. War raids are literally heists though you can take however much you want whenever you want even when nobodies on.

A re-write has been done for them and they're actually just in the process of being approved!

I modified the base rules set down by Wrynn initially (which were already very good) and they haven't been touched since, I'm fairly sure. They were always completely fair and well received. Bring them back, because the current War Raids are literally just Heists without any of the moderation points put in (like restricted gear and restricted amounts of stealing).

I would like the whole active time clarified. For example if all my guys are gmt, and all their guys are pst, how the heck would activity work because our prime time isn't there's but at the same time they still need to be able to defend themselves

ye olde lockpicking was better and made more sense, no fancy system with complicated rules that GMs dont follow

I don't know why the staff feels its necessary to put so much bureaucracy into every aspect of the server, the more complicated that you make the rules, the more work you are giving yourself, and as I understand it, being a GM right now is like having a second job.

 

Get rid of heist rules all together and just combine it with raiding, then change raiding to get rid of 'lawless and lawful' raids, cause those are the stupidest f*ucking ideas on the server, just make raiding like it was in the fringe, nobody complained then about raiding being cancerous because it wasn't.

 

Tldr: combine heists, get rid of the weird raiding types and just make it like the fringe.

many many people complain and actively say they dont want fringe raiding, some raiders even say this

Just remove lawless raids, move the cap timer down to two days. Don't have a population cap on raids and allow raiders to sack chests if they manage to win the raid. Would make raids significantly more meaningful and much more fun while decreasing the incentive to raid rp centric factions that don't have loot.

You are definitely entitled to your opinion and I respect that, but I also disagree, although I think we should allow the community to voice their thoughts on whether they would like fringe raiding or not.

 

Although I think we can all agree that the current raid rules are garbage and that 'Lawless and Lawful' raiding need to go. the current rules are incredibly unfair to both the raiders and respective communities that are being raided alike.

I don't think they're garbage, perhaps just over saturated. I kinda wanted to just run over them and dumb them down/simplify them a lot more, because the base system itself is pretty good I think. Fringe raiding is too far, and the current stuff is just a headache is my basic opinion.

I can think of few periods on the server that were quite as fun as the four or five hour sixty man back and forth raids between Oren and the various Dwarven affiliates.

Indeed, let us make it even more like a factions server with offline base raiding.

Valid point. It would be nice if GMs global emoted a warhorn or something prior to large / war raids taking place as to allow for the targeted faction to log on / prepare.
