Today Cordial and I have decided to use Discord Necromancy upon the remains of the New Player Discord.

 

The Grand Mission:

Our current goal is to help new blood get assimilated into this wonderful community of ours. What we App Slaves the Application Team does besides accepting good new players and denying Dark Elf Ninjas named Azrael Shadowheart, is to be the first people that the new players meet. We have to make a good expression on them and help them learn our systems and get situated in an RP community fitting for their character. Sadly we cannot do this alone, we need slaves friendly players full of experience and the desire to help new players with whatever questions they may have.

 

 

The Plan:

We plan on, first of all, putting more attention and focus on The New Player Discord, remove the inactive helpers and recruit new bright minds to actively help any new player that enters the Discord. When I first joined the server, the discord was active, people were having conversations, now it is a desolate wasteland with the occasional question and so thrown in there. This needs to change, hopefully with a push in the right direction. People will actually use it again.

 

 

How to Join?

So you wish to help? fantastic! that is already a good start, you will be a Slave under the tyrannical will of Dark Lord Vaynth helper in no time! The first step is to be part of the New Player Discord. You do not even need to talk! although it is recommended. So long as you are willing to talk via text and willing to help new players, you are good. Afterward, hang out in one of the channels, and spam me and or @Cordial with private msgs so we can interview you.

Hey guys, check out my thread if you'd like the same information with slightly different wording. (pls +1) We're desperately in need of Discord helpers! So if you're someone who enjoys interacting with new players and helping people get accommodated onto the server without having to be a part of a staff team structure, this is something you might be interested in. We look forward to working with whoever joins.

What can you do to help new players: I've always enjoyed helping people. Something deeply satisfying about helping someone with commands, or helping them practice their RP. And I wanna be able to do that more, since currently I rarely come across new players. I'd be happy to answer any question anyone has, and help them figure out what kind of RP they wanna get involved in.

 

How much time can you set for helping new players: A few hours every day, at the very least, depending on what needs done. Aslong as I'm online and not in the middle of something, I'll be around 99% of the time.

 

How Active can you be on the New Player Discord: Weekdays, I'm usually on from 5 PM EST to 10 PM EST, unless it's Wednesday, I work Wednesdays. The weekends, I'm on pretty much all day. And if I'm online, I'll probably be browsing the discord.

What group are you from: Humans, kind of mages if that's a group, also high elves/ wood elves a bit.

 

What can you do to help new players: I'm in game more so than on the forums, and I'll often message new players in game offering to answer questions and help with the chat system or with lore questions. I'm good with current human events, world lore, some magic lore, and just the basic race lore.

The AT are required to review white-list applications and assist with questions involving apps and general server knowledge. The discord helpers are just players who want to give out more specific information on their groups and even voluntarily get new players situated in the regions that want to be a part of. Making new players feel welcome should be an entire community effort, rather than reserved to staff. This is what we're aiming for.
