In 1635 the war between Urguan and the Coalition had hit a peak and it was no secret to anybody that the children of Krug thrived in such times. An emphasis on practicing combat came from their most recent victory, against Urguan and Oreners alike, where a small number of their brothers had fallen. From the sparring there was a shift in the way that many orcs viewed the way they fought. Instead of just mindlessly attacking a method and technique began to be applied by many fighters. With these techniques there was more than just hitting each other with the larger fighter having a better chance of landing the winning blow, now Orcs had begun practicing how to counter those winning blows, work at the lower half of their attackers through a torrent of kicks and even take their opponents to the ground and attempt to exploit. Thus the arts of Hûn’Zna began.

Each of the three forms of Hûn’Zna are meant to be practised for a lifetime and it is believed that nobody can truly perfect them. The arts of Glim, Grush and Shakol are each their own part of Hûn’Zna and are typically each learned apart from each other. They are radically different in many ways though because they are each a part of Hûn’Zna they share many similarities. In the art of Hûn’Zna each person will wear hand and foot wraps with a band of dyed hemp rope around them. The hemp rope (The Burzol’Nak) will be dyed to indicate rank and placed on the fighter to indicate the art they are proficient in. For Glim’Zna it will be placed around the waist, for Grush’Zna it will be tied around the upper arm and for Shakol’Zna it will be placed a few inches below the knee. Ranks can be visibly seen by the color of the hemp rope that the fighter wears. The colors are as follows:

1. None (1 day)

2. Grey (1 week minimum)

3. Orange (2 week minimum)

4. Brown (1 month)

5. Green (2 month minimum)

6. Black (3 month minimum)

7. Blue (4 month minimum)

8. Red (6 month minimum)

Each rank has its own tests that the user must pass in order to move to the next rank with the only consistent test being to achieve the grey rope the student must learn how to do their own hand and foot wraps, tie a hemp rope and safely spar.

OOC: The idea behind this is not to make any orc directly stronger than another in combat but rather to display how much they have practiced and to give characters a defined objective in a fight. If people wish to teach the art please contact me and I will help you get situated. If you are looking for a teacher then you can contact me or find somebody with a red Burzol’Nak in rp. Don't spawn characters that just know the art, you'll need to learn it unless you given permission by myself to be a teacher. Thanks for reading over the post.
