I, Jevan Ruric, High Prince of the Kingdom of Norland and heir to the Thorn Crown hereby release this communique, as the first action of what shall be the beginning of a better Norland.

__________________________________________________________________________________________

It has come to my attention, the ever increasing threat of the Red Faith. The faith that follows the All Father. In recent months Arthas Ruric, and his zealot supporters, have begun traveling the Isles, in the hopes of converting the people to the Red Faith. On it’s own, this is innocent enough, as this was the actions of an individual not sanctioned by the Crown. However, it has come to my attention that this process of finding potential converts has become more and more violent. This shall not be tolerated. Norland has forever stood in stark opposition to the Orenian Empire, founded on the principles of freedom, and tolerance. We shall not become what we sought to destroy.

Arthas Ruric has spearheaded this assault on the peoples of the world. No individual should ever fear for their lives based upon their faith, or lack thereof. This contest of civilization against barbarism ends here. Arthas has condoned the use of violence, even in the lands of our allies. The rolling hills of Santegia, the grand halls of the Frostbeards, the deep woods of the Warhawkes, have all endured the threats of Arthas Ruric. He is a disgrace to the royal name.

I, Jevan Ruric, hereby remove the Red Faith as the official religion of the Kingdom of Norland. Never again will Norland tolerate hatred founded in religion. Norland will from this day, until it’s last, be a free religious state.

The temples of the All Father shall be torn down, stone by stone. In their place, the Kingdom of Norland shall create a singular temple, one of blank stone, where any religion can be practiced. We take great inspiration in this regard from the Kingdom of Santegia, who have always been a beacon of free exercise in this world. All citizens of Norland, and all those who enter our lands shall be able to privately practice their faith, however, any attempt to force another to join a certain religion is henceforth banned. To do so is punishable by death. Additionally, Arthas Ruric, and all those who claim to be a high priest of the All Father are from this day forth stripped of their power and title from within the Kingdom of Norland. The “codes” of Norland, are henceforth declared illegitimate. Norland, with the help of it’s people, and the Ashen Council, will create a new set of codes, codes that represent our people today. The number of citizens who actually believe in the All Father, are very few, and therefore we shall never again create laws based on the wishes of the All Father. I declare that Arthas’s attempt to deny my birthright to be beyond his power, and therefore a illegitimate action. Finally, the title Keeper of the Flame, which was written into the original document on the function of the Ashen Council, will no longer be a titled position on the council. No religion will be represented by the council.

To our Allies, I Jevan Ruric, alongside Ser Avalon Silversteed, Ser Edward, Jory Ash, Jorvik Ash, and the people of Norland, humbly apologize to our allies, who have stood with us for so long. In our great allied victory against Oren, we the people of Norland have become arrogant, basking in a glory that is far from ours alone. Oren was destroyed not by Norland. It was destroyed by an idea. An idea that perhaps there is something more than tyranny, than oppression. In our efforts to destroy the monster, we have begun to look like the monster.

"A brave new world we are entering. It is times like these when I am proud to call myself a Norlander. We are taking the right steps to a brighter future!" Avalon would exclaim.

"Honestly pathetic," says Robert, reading over the document "A weak attempt to circumvent the consequences of their heathen barbarism. The Crown of Norland relinquishes their own religion only because it condemns them. Not because they care for Humanity or the grace of God. They don't even have the decency to take back the mantle of Canonism, now they're just atheist heathens."

"What's worse than a pagan? An atheist. You filthy degenerates belong on crosses." remarked Thomas upon hearing this declaration!

Exander Ruric would let out a genuine laugh upon hearing news of his cousins disbandment of the faith. "So the young prince and my foolish cousin plan to disband a faith they have no right over to subvert attention from their own actions, claiming all wrongdoings of their own as that of my fathers"

Exander would rise from his seat, moving to the open window "It is convenient for Jevan to cast out the scrolls directly after learning that they require a moot for the next king to be chosen, not simply for him to be graced with it. I fear for my home nation, and the path it is heading" Exander would turn back towards the open room he was in, to speak to those of the faith who were 'violently converted'.

Elle looks around Norland in disappointment. Holding Paradox's reins she shakes her head. Grabbing the fur of her beloved mount, she pulls herself onto the saddle. Studying the fires around her, Elle cannot help but be overcome by her rage.

"I hope the Canonists destroy Norland now, Paradox. I genuinely hope the Norlanders falter, wither into non-existence." , and she pats the side of Paradox's neck.

The young Noctuid's gaze hardens. "I hope Jevan suffers horribly.

With that, the young pup rides away from Norland on her demigryph.

Ahryn would let out a laugh, hearing the news. "Jevan claims Norland to be a free religious state, and simultaneously disband a faith not even affiliated with the crown." He mutters to himself, fully intending to continue standing with the father.

The spineless cowardice of my kinfolk baffles the mind, I am ashamed by even be associated with the House of Ruric this day. They abandon their traditions and their ancestors in a feeble hope to shift the blame onto the one seeking to make peace. Never forget the craven scum that call themselves King of Norland, they are a shadow of the old men. He calls himself a high prince, no doubt this brainless fop has let his lust for power go to his head. In his madness he has become a snow elf.

Arthas would frown delving into his many essays disproving the blatant lies spread by the brat prince

"Jevan did not disband the faith, though expelled it from Norland."

*hands Ahryn a dictionary to study the definitions of 'disband' and 'expel'

"What a pity. Forcing people to convert into the faith is heresy. I have little idea of what this prince is talking about by this so called violence. It is possible that we of the Allfather's light are being used as a tool to shield Norland's bandit raids from blame." said Galen.

Exander Ruric would be confused at his Bastard relatives cries "I expect you'll be the ones cryin once you realize you just cast out what little culture you swines had had left, and even worse you now have canonist nations hating you even more. My father spoke with their leaders and smoothed out relations with the canonist church and the Faith, there was little to no aggression between the two. now that you've cast us out you'll all be seen as Atheist's" he'd say with a laugh

"Atheists would imply a lack of religion. We are simply accepting of many different faiths, as are our friends in Santegia."
