Second Cyrilsburg Election, 1658

We ask all the electorate in the Principality of Curon to duly and properly elect the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Cyrilsburg from among those candidates who have thus far declared their candidacy. They shall, upon their election, assume office and begin to immediately implement necessary reforms in the city. They shall serve as chief executive officers of the Cyrilsburg Municipal Government, leading the stewardry and other local officials, under the oversight of the Chancellor.

The election is to begin today. All those who vote will be catalogued and checked against existent records. To qualify to vote, one must not necessarily own land, but they must have an active presence in the Principality. The August Administration shall investigate all votes, and ensure there is no voter fraud. In five Saint’s Days, a winner shall be announced. A ceremony shall be held wherein His Excellency the Mayor assumes office, and a celebration will commence posthaste.

  “My fellow citizens, the time has began. The time to choose your Mayor, the man who lead our great city into greatness once again. My fellow opponents haven’t exactly listed what they want to change, or what they wish to create. I find it rather disturbing and worrying, especially when they wish to seize such a position with many responsibilities. They think it’s a simple and easy office job.” the man clears his throat, “Well it is not, they are not qualified for the office, they’ve failed to earn my trust, YOUR trust. I’ve been around Cyrilsburg for a long time, for at least ten years and I know exactly what our city needs! More guards to keep us safe, more offices in order to vanish poverty, more houses to live in, a better and fair taxation system. A vote for Stephanos and for Thomas, is a vote for prosperity and safety!” the man coughs, “My friends, my loved ones, you all give me strength to continue and make Cyrilsburg the great city it once was, a warm and welcoming city to everyone and together we will restore our city to it’s former glory! ‘My strength, the love of the people!” The man finally stops, but is surely ready to have a few more speeches!

Ser Cecil makes his vote, casting it and walking to the streets of Curon. He looks around, breathing a sigh of relief that this hectic election was almost over. He looks once more, a smile upon his face, and whispers quietly. "Ave Curon."

Leila, with a smile, watches as people step up and cast their vote. She waves and greets individuals, but never opens her mouth for a speech as the other candidates do, for she feels like one at this time simply isn't necessary.

Matthew would move to stand before a crowd gathered in the square. "My fellow Curonians, I stand before you not as a candidate to be your mayor, but as a friend. You can vote for someone who will just treat you as citizens, who think they doing are what's best. Or you can vote for a man who will treat you as a family, and do what is truly best for you. During my youth, my father had me train in law. I read books, front to back, hundreds of them. I was once a lord as well, for a short time. Ruling over a barony of people. Power though, and the past you ruled, does not matter. It matters who you trust, with the future of yourself and your children. I ask for your vote, to put your trust in me to do what is right for our family, for our city. For the People, by the people. Those have been my words since the begging. They mean, I fight for the people, I dedicate my life for the people, and I am chosen by the people. So when you slip that ballot into the box, remember who you are voting for. Is it someone you trust, is it someone you can relate too? Someone who will defend your rights, and thought to their very dying breath? Be wise in your choice, friends." He smiles to them, as he steps down. He would make his way, leaving the area.

"People of Curon, I ask that you elect myself and Mr. Kalehart as your new Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Cyrilsburg for the sheer reason of the betterment of the City, and her people. I've recently evicted eleven homes of those that had not paid tax and sold a few of them to those that will hopefully meet our taxation standards in order to allow more funding for our City, allowing for more funding on the construction of homes, stalls, and other things of that sort. The future of the Municipal Government and Cyrilsburg as a whole is up to you, fair citizens. If you vote Véres, I assure that you won't be disappointed. Thank you for your time" stated Véres Draskovits, clearing his throat and stepping down from his podium.

Arstan av Tosali would look to the people gathering, examining them closely. He'd look to the candidates trying to convince the populace to join their cause. He'd smile at the de Cantwell boy, a distant cousin, but still family in the eyes of the Tosali man. He'd then look to the people gathering and believed he should make a speech to convince them to a candidate. He'd step onto a platform, looking to the people as he stated "Friends, brothers, and sisters, some may know me, some may not, but I've seen Curon since the founding, I've set foot in these lands with Duke Karl, I've fought against the Santegian and Norlander foes, and most importantly, I've watched this city grow into the shithole that is has became." He'd chuckle, continuing "Some people wish for economic reforms, some wish for nobility, but it is the people being represented." He'd pace the platform, looking to other people "The thing that disgusts me is that only Lord de Cantwell mentioned fighting for the common peasant, while the other men, forgot them completely." He'd look to the other side of the square, continuing "This is what will happen if you vote in anyone else. You will be forgotten as you have been many times before, and your families will lose loved ones, lose property, and lose your liberty if you vote for anyone other than the de Cantwell." He'd smile a bit "A bit of a fool he might be at times, and a boy too, but I helped build this nation at his age, I grew a military force to 2,000 fighting men by myself, but what matters the most is that this man is willing to put his neck on the chopping block for all of you, and the other men in these elections, will simply run in fear with their tail between their legs." He'd move to the center, glancing at everyone, pausing for a moment as he finally stated "When you cast your ballot, do not forget that these men are not for you and will never be because they are not of you, and will never be of you. Now Lord de Cantwell has a very childish phrase as his slogan, but take it literally because this man is the only one who is putting you first and everyone else second." He'd nod to them, leaving the platform, casting his vote and walking off.
