The Election for the Sohaerate

As published 13th of Snow’s Maiden, 1660

With the failure to elect a new Sohaer due to a majority abstention, a second election shall be held. Stability must be maintained, and in that spirit I announce my candidacy for the position of Sohaer. It is disheartening to see that no other mali’thill has announced his or her desire to lead our nation, yet the period of uncertainty that has crippled our society cannot continue. I wish the best of luck to Athedil Acal’elor, and hope that he will remain to provide guidance to our people and council.

 

Our former Ah’Sohaer has given us his last word of guidance. Whoever will come to lead Haelun’or must retain legitimacy in the eyes of the blessed citizenry. In following the wisdom of our ancestors, forging our path ever onward, we remain remain true to Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya. Vote lliran, and preserve the essence of our people.

 

1. Only active mali’thill citizens (this is defined as those who claimed or renewed their citizenship in Atlas) of the Silver Sohaerate may cast a vote.

2. Only a single vote per citizen.

3. Your full name must be listed on the ballot, else it will be considered invalid and disregarded.

4. A majority abstaining will result in the disqualification of the candidate.

5. The voting will be open for a single elven day.

He complains about a lack of candidates just eight elven hours after the result of the first election was announced, what is this man, stupid? And then he announces his own candidacy in the same announcement as the one in which he declares the beginning of the vote. I know I have never personally been one for elections, but when they are there, at least try to do them properly, if you can even manage that Mister Laurir’ante.

 

If this does not prove why I have my doubts about this man, and why I do not trust him, I do not know what will. He is a disgrace to Larihei and her people, not worthy of Haelun’ors legacy.

 

I am not even going to honor this fraud of a vote with my participation, it should be nulled and voided, allowing people to share their candidacies working up to a proper election amongst our people.
