What is a Moderator

A Moderator (often abbreviated to Mod or M) is someone tasked with handling every capacity of moderation within LoTC. Specifically, the Moderation Team is responsible for handling in-game support tickets, handling reported content on the forums, resolving player disputes, and lastly creating/enforcing LoTC rules and guidelines.

What should I know before applying for staff to be a moderator?

Being a Moderator is a demanding job in every sense of the word. It is demanding of responsibility, integrity, and common sense. During your tenure as a Moderator, your actions are no longer representative of just yourself -- rather, you represent the team as a whole. As is the case with every other job of this nature, in time you'll find it is as equally rewarding of a task as it is a demanding one.

How are Moderators picked?

Moderators are selected based off multiple pieces of information that are put together. When your app is posted you will receive an interview by a Moderation Team Trainer who will then pass that information onto the team. Every time we select new Moderators to be added the Moderation team gives their weigh in followed by a discussion with Moderation-Managers, and Admins on who would be the best addition to the team. After that process is complete the Moderation Administrator considers the following: The application, the interview, team opinions, opinions of the discussion with managers and admins, forum history, in-game history, and the applicants overall position in the community, before making the final selection of who will join the team.

NOTICE: If you re-apply you are not promised another interview. You will usually receive another interview if you re-post your app after a considerable amount of time has passed between your last one for your old app and your new app. This is up to Moderation Managers.
