Unnamed Norlandic Drinking song

Spoiler

Gather 'round ye lads and lasses, set ye for a while,
And harken to me mournful tale about the kraggen Isle.
Let's all raise our glasses high to friends and family gone,
And lift our voices in another norlandic drinkin' song.

Consumption took me mother and me father got the pox,
Me brother drank the whiskey till he wound up in a box.
Me other brother in the troubles met with his demise,
Me sister has forever closed her smilin' nordic eyes.

Now everybody's died, so until our tears are dried,
We'll drink and drink and drink and drink and then we'll drink some more.
We'll dance and sing and fight until the early mornin' light,
Then we'll throw up, pass out, wake up and then go drinkin' once again.

Pete was killed in Petrus and Hans he died in Haense,
Johan from Joburg died out in the Derry air.
Shannon jumped into the river Shannon back in June,
Urnie fell into the urn and Tom is in the Tomb.

"Cleanliness is godliness," me Uncle Frey would sing,
He broke his neck a-slippin' on a bar of Nordic Spring.
Grady he was eighty, 'tho his bride was just a pup,
He died upon the honeymoon when she got his swordsmen up.

Now everybody's died, so until our tears are dried,
We'll drink and drink and drink and drink and then we'll drink some more.
We'll dance and sing and fight until the early mornin' light,
Then we'll throw up, pass out, wake up and then go drinkin' once again.

Uther fought with Erik near the cliffs of Wileen,
He took out his shillelagh and he stabbed him in the spleen.
Crazy Uncle Edvard thought he was a leprechaun,
But in fact he's just a leper and his arms and legs are gone.

When Charles broke his neck it was a cryin' shame,
He wasn't really Nordic, but Dreadlandic he became.
Johnathon crossed the road and by a cart he was hit,
But he was just a Horen so nobody gave a ****.

Now everybody's died, so until our tears are dried,
We'll drink and drink and drink and drink and then we'll drink some more.
We'll dance and sing and fight until the early mornin' light,
Then we'll throw up, pass out, wake up and then go drinkin' once again.

Me drunken Uncle Brendan tried to ride home from the bar,
The road rose up to meet him when he fell out of his cart.
Irony was what befell me Great Grand Uncle Sam,
He choked upon the very last potato in the land.

Bjorn lived in Felsen, he used to smuggle arms,
Until the Legion killed him and cut off his lucky charms.
And dear old Father Gregory who left the Lord's employ,
Drunk on sacramental wine beneath the altar boy.

Now everybody's died, so until our tears are dried,
We'll drink and drink and drink and drink and then we'll drink some more.
We'll dance and sing and fight until the early mornin' light,
Then we'll throw up, pass out, wake up and then go drinkin' once again.

Someday soon I'll leave this world of pain and toil and sin,
The Lord will take me by the hand to join all of me kin.
Me only wish is when the Savior comes for me and you,
He kills that blasted onesie crew and Victoria Ruric too.

Now everybody's died, so until our tears are dried,
We'll drink and drink and drink and drink and then we'll drink some more.
We'll dance and sing and fight until the early mornin' light,
Then we'll throw up, pass out, wake up and then go drinkin' once again,
Then we'll throw up, pass out, wake up and then go drinkin' once again,
Then we'll throw up, pass out, wake up and then go drinkin' once again.

Blue Ribbon winner

Spoiler

Well a Norlander clad in plate,

left the hall one evening fair,

and one could tell by how he walked,

he had drunk more than his share,

he fumbled ‘round,

till he could no longer keep his feet,

and he stumbled off into the grass,

to sleep beneath the street,

about that time two young and lovely girls of Oren, just happened by

one says to the other with a twinkle in her eye,

“See yon sleeping Norlander,

so strong and handsome built?

I wonder if it’s true,

what they don’t wear beneath their belt,”

They crept up on that Norlander as quiet as could be,

pulled down his pants about an inch,

so that they could see,

and there, behold, for them to view,

beneath that Norlanders pants,

was nothing more than god,

had graced him with upon his birth,

they marveled for a moment,

then one said, we must be gone,

lets leave a present for our friend

before we move along,”

as a gift they left a blue silk ribbon,

tied in a bow, around his great longsword,

the Norlanders pants did drop and show,

now the Norlander woke to natures call,

and stumbled towards the trees,

Behind the bush he drops his pants,

and gawks at what he sees,

and in a startled voice he says,

to what’s before his eyes,

“Lad I don’t know where you been,

but I see you won first prize!”

Glory to Norland

Spoiler

Strength and Honor is what we seek!

Off in our longboats so mighty and sleek!

The land of Horen so bland and bleak!

Weakness and scum is what we reap!

Gold and loot is what we now reek!

Back to Norland so mighty and fine!

We wash off the blood, we wash off the brine!

A celebration with ale and wine!

Brawling and singing, a merry ole time!

Glory to Norland so mighty and fine!

Iron from ice! is what we shout!

Oren flees with brothers about!

They fear death when we charge out!

Help! they scream while we make them route!

We’ll smack their ass and make them pout!

Back to Norland so mighty and fine!

We wash off the blood, we wash off the brine!

A celebration with ale and wine!

Brawling and singing, a merry ole time!

Glory to Norland so mighty and fine!

The men of Oren so Brave

Spoiler

The men of Oren so brave!

To battle in chainmail they go,

they’re skirts and make-up just so,

When they meet the Norland steel,

they’ll stop in their tracks and turn their heel,

The men of Oren so brave!

The men of Oren so brave!

And after with their fathers layin’

they charge out, quick to dyin’

and Edvard yells out through his slayin’

send them back to their mothers cryin’

The men of Oren so brave!

A Hell of a way to die

Spoiler

He was just a rookie soldier and he surely shook with fright.

He checked off his equipment and made sure his pack was tight.

He had to sit and listen to those awful Turkins roar.

You ain't gonna fight no more.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

He ain't gonna fight no more.

"Is everybody happy?" cried the sergeant looking up.

Our hero feebly answered, "Yes", and then they stood him up.

He jumped into the icy fray, his scabbard left unhooked.

And he ain't gonna fight no more.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

He ain't gonna fight no more.

He counted long, he counted loud, he waited for the shock.

He felt the wind, he felt the cold, he felt the awful drop.

The silk from his elytra ripped and wrapped around his legs.

And he ain't gonna fight no more.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

He ain't gonna fight no more.

The hands wrapped around his neck, hammers cracked his dome.

Ropes and lines were tied in knots around his skinny bones.

The Battlefield became his shroud, he's held until he drowned.

And he ain't gonna fight no more.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

He ain't gonna fight no more.

The days he lived and loved and laughed kept running through his mind.

He thought about the girl back home, the one he left behind.

He thought about the medic and wondered what they'd find.

And he ain't gonna fight no more.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

He ain't gonna fight no more.

The Champion was on the spot, the berserkers running wild.

The medics jumped and screamed with glee, rolled up their sleeves and smiled.

For it had been a week or more since last a man had failed.

And he ain't gonna fight no more.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

He ain't gonna fight no more.

He hit the ground, the sound was "Splat," his blood went spurting high.

His comrades they were heard to say, "A helluva way to die."

He lay there rolling 'round in the welter of his gore.

And he ain't gonna fight no more.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

He ain't gonna fight no more.

There was blood upon the hilltops, there were brains upon the loot.

Intestines were a-dangling from his heavy plated suit.

He was a mess, they picked him up and poured him from his boots.

And he ain't gonna fight no more.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.

He ain't gonna fight no more.

We'll all go down to Oren

Spoiler

Away down South in the land of traitors,
Rattlesnakes and alligators,
Right away, come away, right away, come away.
Where bastard’s king and men are chattels,
Norlands boys will win the battles,
Right away, come away, right away, come away.

CHORUS: Then we'll all go down to Oren,

Away, away,
Each Oren boy must understand
They cannot beat our great warband,
Away, away,
And we'll all go down to Oren.
Away, away,
And we'll all go down to Oren.

And soon when Oren’s lain to die,

We’ll make those imperial b*tch boys cry
Right away, come away, right away, come away.
And when those Norland men roll out.
Oren’s lads will turn and rout,
Right away, come away, right away, come away.

CHORUS: Then they'll wish they were in Oren,

Away, away,
Each Oren boy must understand
They cannot beat our great warband,
Away, away,
And we'll all go down to Oren.
Away, away,
And we'll all go down to Oren.

Oh, may our Red and Black still wave
Forever o'er the free and brave,
Right away, come away, right away, come away.
And we’ll have the men of paradise --
Shouting out that "Iron from Ice!"
Right away, come away, right away, come away.

CHORUS: Then they'll wish they were in Oren,

Away, away,
Each Oren boy must understand
They cannot beat our great warband,
Away, away,
And we'll all go down to Oren.
Away, away,
And we'll all go down to Oren.

Unnamed Norlandic tavern song

Spoiler

I bang on the door but you won't let me in,

'cause you're sick and tired of me reeking of gin.

Locked all the doors from the front to the back,

And left me a note telling me I should pack.

I walk in the bar and the fella's all cheer,

They order me up a whiskey and beer.

You ask me why I'm writing this poem,

Some call it a tavern but I call it home.

**** you, I'm drunk

**** you, I'm drunk

Pour my beer down the sink

I've got more in my trunk.

**** you, I'm drunk

**** you, I'm drunk

And I'm going to be drunk till the next time I'm drunk!

You've given me an option, you say I must choose,

'tween you and the liquor, then I'll take the booze!

Jumpin' on main street down to the south side,

Where I'll sit down and exercise my Norlandic pride.

**** you, I'm drunk

**** you, I'm drunk

Pour my beer down the sink

I've got more in my trunk.

**** you, I'm drunk

**** you, I'm drunk

And I'm going to be drunk till the next time I'm drunk!

Ole' Johnny boy

Spoiler

The generals gathered round Ole’ Johnny boy

To think of a plan to the red brothers destroy.

None of them could create an idea,

To stop the men that had claimed they were free-a

Ole’ Johnny boy,

You dress wearin’ bastard

I wouldn’t tap that,

Even if I were plastered.

Finally stood a young lad of Staunton stock

Ole’ johnny boy gave a big grin and an brow he did cock,

“Will you be joining the battle?” he asked,

To which johnny replied, “the only thing I will be slayin’s that ass.”

Ole’ Johnny boy,

How is that ass feelin’ today,

I bet it is red, sore, and broken

After e’ery lad of Oren you lay,

The men of the south stumbled onto the fields

Drunk as dwarves, could barely hold their own shields.

And when the men o’ the north charged out,

The men of Horen, their morale did doubt.

Ole’ Johnny boy,

Your wife is your mother,

Your daughter your sister,

And your father your brother.

The men o’ the north, they swung and they slashed

They tore through the men of the south unabashed

They reached Ole’ Johnny boys tent in a minute

But all that was there was a dress wearing midget!

Ole’ Johnny boy,

You’re not what you seem,

A dwarfed down halfling,

Was all to be seen!

A krugsmas miracle

Spoiler

A Krugsmas Miracle

The men of Norland slept snug in their beds,

while visions of ale danced in their heads.

when all of a sudden a splish and a splash,

It woke the men up as quick as a flash.

a noise was heard, a whisper at most,

rang out down, from by the coast.

The men came down to investigate,

two ships were trodden, filled with freight.

the men rejoiced, with such a gift!

but who delivered this present so swift?

and then to the men’s utter surprise

It was the dwarves! A curse in disguise?

The men checked the crafts from bow and to stern,

the norlanders spoke up, “Perhaps these Vessels we should return?”

But after many a look and a see,

The men realized that this gift was free,

They brought the ships into their docks,

Their fleet was now as strong as an ox,

the men looked up was that a sleigh?

had father krugsmas been early this day?

the men listened quick as he flew out of sight,

“Merry Krugsmas to all, and to all, a goodnight.”

The old Brigade (Norland Rebel army)

Spoiler

Oh, father why are you so sad

On this bright n’ shinin’ morn’

When Nordic men are proud and glad

Of the land that they were born?

Oh, son, I see in mem’ries few

Of far off distant days

When being just a lad like you

I joined the NRA

Where are the lads that stood with me

When history was made?

A Ghra Mo Chroi, I long to see

The boys of the old brigade

From hills and farms a call to arms

Was heard by one and all

And from the glen came brave young men

To answer Norland’s call

‘T wasn’t long ago we faced a foe

The old brigade and me

And by my side they fought and died

That Norland might be free

Where are the lads that stood with me

When history was made?

A Ghra Mo Chroi, I long to see

The boys of the old brigade

And now, my boy, I’ve told you why

On Father’s morn’ I sigh

For I recall my comrades all

And dark old days gone by

I think of men who fought in glen

With greatsword and grenade

May heaven keep the men who sleep

From the ranks of the old brigade

Where are the lads that stood with me

When history was made?

A Ghra Mo Chroi, I long to see

The boys of the old brigade

Unnamed Norlandic Rebel Army Song

Spoiler

I was born on Eirik street where the loyal drums do beat
And the loving dwarven feet they trampled over us,
And every night when me father'd come home tight
He'd invite the neighbors outside with this chorus:

Oh, come out you black and tans,
Come out and fight me like a man
Show your wives how you won medals down in Oren
Tell them how the NRA made you run like hell away,
From the green and lovely lanes in Seahelm.

Come let me hear you tell
How you slammed the great Thor’mir,
When you fought them well and truly persecuted,
Where are the smears and jeers
That you bravely let us hear
When our heroes of sixteen were executed.

Oh, come out you black and tans,
Come out and fight me like a man
Show your wives how you won medals down in Oren
Tell them how the NRA made you run like hell away,
From the green and lovely lanes in Seahelm.

Eirik, Thor, and Frey--
How you bravely called them swine!
Robert Emmett who you hung and drew and quartered!
High upon that scaffold high,
How you murdered Henry Joy!
And our Croppy Boys from crestholm you did slaughter!

Oh, come out you black and tans,
Come out and fight me like a man
Show your wives how you won medals down in Oren
Tell them how the NRA made you run like hell away,
From the green and lovely lanes in Seahelm.

The day is coming fast
And the time is here at last,
When each yeoman will be cast aside before us,
And if there be a need
Sure my kids wil sing, "Godspeed!"
With a verse or two of Sven Ruric’s chorus.

Oh, come out you black and tans,
Come out and fight me like a man
Show your wives how you won medals down in Oren
Tell them how the NRA made you run like hell away,
From the green and lovely lanes in Seahelm.
