Requiem for September

Unknown to most, the persona known as ‘September’s Malice’ could not attend the Caras Eldar siege for reasons unknown to man.

One could’ve said that his wavering morale, mayhaps been a secondary cause, another would’ve been his true loyalties to the elves, those who nurtured him while others had much more.. questionable means.

Befitting to his scarred heritage, the hi-Bryophite, calmly meditated deep within the sacred grove of the wonka woods, having little influence to fight his own kind.

With little real control over his actions, the cultist dug deep into the murky soil, allowing the roots to coil over his ankles, leather clad armor. The man wasn’t going to budge, nor for either side, a neutral party until the end.

Despite the immediate realization that his lord was to come into loss, the man stared at the rotting roots, his willing shackles unbound, after several years of dedication, it was finally over..

The bryophites bond shattered, among many other additions to his tempered hide.

The previous wooden skin, blistering with thorns had receded back into mortal flesh.

The man’s fiber-like locks bloomed back with a sultry raven ebony.

The prior bryophite had retained his mortality.

But at what benefit?

The silent cultist peered over to the dying roots, his expression holding morose grimness, his mind appeared to be full of thought, What now? Thought the cultist, every passing moment silently judging, reflecting upon past actions. His sole objective had failed, the Empire of Man still stood, the south; still stood, the north, triumphant in it’s victory struck enough chords within the follower to say more than enough will:

No matter your strength, even the most impossible of adversaries can become broken.

With one final pass of the sanctum, the man eventually pulled himself up from the dirt, dusted off his clothing, gave one silent bow towards the tree, and wandered off, into the nothingness.
