THE ASCENSION OF AN EMPEROR

Young Louis XV by Alexis Simon Belle, resembles another portrait made by Rigaud. Both artists portrayed Louis XV as a very capable ruler notwithstanding his very young age of 12. The king succeeded his great-grandfather at the age of 5 but was formally crowned at the age of 12. Soon After, marriage plans started to build up & 5 years later he married the older Polish ex-princess Marie LeszczyÅska, she, prior to her arrival sent a beautiful portrait of her that the same Alexis Belle had made.

The Coronation of John VII of the House of Cascadia

With the dawning of a new day, the sun’s divine luminescence swept the landscapes of the city of Helena, illuminating those imperious walls which seemed to rise unchallenged from the stark waters of the great bay, and giving greater radiance to a city trembling with frenetic exhilaration; The people had come embellished in their finest garb, only the richest of silks and decorated fabrics gracing the bodies of this most exuberant populace. Their laughter congested the streets of the City of Helena, flooding the exit of the cathedral in succession of the baptism of the crown prince and all his adherent vassals, conversing amongst themselves of the grandeur of such a day.

They had come in their luxurious equanimity to witness a momentous occasion, the resplendent coronation of a most beloved figure of historical renown: a prince of imperial influence, in his righteous ascent to become an emperor of unchallenged authority.

Albeit, a prince was just a boy. A boy who’s plight of life came to him so grippingly in exhaustion’s embrace. A boy who would hold the burden of an arduous empire heaved onto thinly built shoulders, and he would himself cradle it to no fault of his own in the glory of his conscientious rule. Now baptised a second time, newly fresh under god's vision, a boy would become a man, and a man would become an emperor.

All those who witnessed his symbolic rebirth scattered into the great and pompous hall of the Rubrummagnus, silence being their final preoccupation.

The boy’s name:

“His Imperial Highness, Achilius of the House of Cascadia enters!”

It sung throughout the palace, a great pompous hymn of eclesiastical and royal power resonating in a single vibrato.

The prince waltzed forward, arriving in such a style that the magnificent robes that clung over his petite stature seemed no greater design than he himself was bred. He wore a greater majesty that entranced the bustling commonality, causing the sudden absence of their scampered chatter in trade for peers and gawking.

The only gaze set forth and away from the boy was that of Achilius himself, whose eyes were set singularly to the imposing image of triumph in the highest description it could be acquired, even whilst he knelt before the judgement of the holy father.

Before the congress of onlookers stood erect a dignified figure of the high pontiff, Daniel VI, kind eyes retaining their usual animaty of soul as they breezed over the youth’s indifferent composure.

Another’s serene countenance attempted to parallel that which brewed from the aura of the sun’s rejoice: the consort of the prior emperor, Adeline of Alstion, the crown held by her delicate hands beaming a golden light upon the eyes of those who stood nearest to watch: the greatest monarchs of the realm, coming to greet a benevolent force in the making.

In gentle movements, the accessory was passed from the empress' hands and to those of the high pontiff's, committing herself to a fateful transition of power.

“Longa sit regnum eius.” The pontiff spoke following the rite of emperors, hardly a whisper above the amassed crowds.

The crown was lowered onto Achilius' scalp in a moment that would be remembered forever as one lacking debate. The future of the nation was then placed atop a still adolescent mind, whose creed it was now to lead the Pax Orenia ever onward to ensure the health of the State as would under his jurisdiction.

Subsequently plod Ser Rozmeo Kastrovat forward. Hoisted atop his palms was the Sword of Owyn, which he presented to Achilius to be held as a symbol of the blade that would guide the empire by battle and brawn; Then was Alexander Merentel, who presented the Scepter of Godfrey, to be held as a symbol of the sovereignty and command that would guide the empire by conscious reason, and finally was the Orbis of Sigismund, presented by the ascendant clergy to be held as a symbol of the boy's GOD given divine right to preside over the lord's faithful followers.

Bearing the articles of substantial consequence, the crowned monarch looked out to the gathering masses which bloated the Cathedral with such eager eyes and rolling deliberation that it would fluster and make even the most stern man blush. The Holy Father then uttered the locution that secured the Imperium atop the precipice in place for however long he may reign, “Long Live His Imperial Majesty Johannes Achilles of the House of Cascadia, Seventh of his Name, Emperor of the Holy Orenian Empire!"

“ AVE IMPERIUM - AVE ORENIA “

“ LONG LIVE THE EMPEROR ! LONG MAY HE REIGN !”
