As the denizens adorned in various colors and fabrics filter into the stand seating, the Mayor waits patiently at his desk centered in the back of the room. His slightly elevated position allows him to look over the peoples of the city. He is reminded of the spontaneous camaraderie exhibited by his fellow Man during the tragedy of the Great Helena Fires. His eyes drift away in thought for a moment while the last of those in attendance take their seat. A the face of a life lost in selfless service flashes in his head before he snaps back to reality- ready to address the congregation . . . “My fellow citizens of Helena. We are gathered here today to conduct an auction as a means of raising money towards the reconstruction efforts of the city. We also aim to appropriate funding towards social relief and economic uplift programs that would directly benefit the everyday person. In the wake of the fiery maelstrom that decimated the Western districts of our great city, we are in the unique position to pay tribute to benevolent philanthropists that would help bring prosperity to those without. The districts of Wheezer way and Gambino lane have been consumed by fire- in their place will stand two new zones with new names and considerably improved living conditions. For the first unnamed district -by executive edict of the Lord Mayor- it shall be dedicated to a brave soul who was lost in the fire. Risking everything to ensure their fellow citizens were rescued from the all consuming flames, this individual paid the ultimate price with valiant disregard for their own life. As such, d’Amaury Court will become the official name of one of the two new districts. As for the second unnamed district, the new name shall be decided by highest bidder on auction- here. To all those interested in leaving their permanent mark on the Ruby of the Empire, I would urge you now to commit your funds to a truly unique legacy piece.
