Dear Curon,

 

My name is Hadvar av Mitteland, former General of the AIS and Knight of the Highland Realm. I have recently placed a sanctioned bounty on the head of one of your people for a strongly worded missive which was posted to the Duke of Morsgrad. In addition, I placed all Imperial Curonians under a 100 mina per head genocide.

Your response? An anonymous man, too scared to show his face, has posted a bounty on my head and the heads of those who associate with House Mitteland. My act of aggression was over the bullying tactics shown by the men of Curon, who wished to throw around power that they just don't have. 

What will I do in response to this recent bounty? I'll be doing nothing. I see this as a pettiful response to try and show that Curon has honour and can stick up for themselves, however little did I know that they are children who wish to throw out sums of money they cannot pay.

What will I be planning for the future? This is a message directly for Curon. Take down the bounty, stop acting tough when you have no legs to stand on. You can't hunt those who don't live in one area. I live on the roads, my soldiers are your civilians, bandits of the road. You won't see us coming, you won't be able to find us, your enemy is invisible so you must concede. If Curon sends out a missive, apologising for their actions and surrendering their honour to House Mitteland, I will drop the bounty and call the bandits off. If they wish to retaliate with aggression once more, then War it is.

  You flaunt your call of genocide as if it’s mighty and as if you even have enough power to do so. You say us Curonians have no legs to stand on when you pose with false titles. Our legs are our people and the Empire, our legs are strong. You try to stand on legs you no longer have, Hadvar. You dare demand an apology when you have made attempts at genocide, when you have made attempts to kill our people, our families, and myself. I have yet to meet a man as foolish as you and I have met the the Northmen. Take your demand of an apology to the grave, you will never get one. You are a fraud, you are a fool, and you are a dead man. You do not order genocide of a people and walk away. Travel the roads as long as you like, you and any who associate with you will be found. 

This is not a war, Hadvar. You are far too small and insignificant for it be called a war. You are a genocidal menace who will be dealt with. If I wasn’t Sheriff, I’d gladly take this bounty myself. Though don’t misunderstand, should I find you myself, I will kill you. For your ignorance and your insulting demand of an apology, whoever completes this contract may find 4,000 mina on the road as they walk. Call it an act of God.

“Snobbish behaviour from the Ruberni…” He states, before hanging his medal on his bedside cabinet. The many years he carried them through War and the many skirmishes he won, no appreciation was shown to him. Additionally, he questions how they were speaking to him of his response, he did not send a missive back? As if a ghost has spoken to him, Hadvar double takes for a moment. Confused and concerned, he goes back to his bedchamber to rest in his self-isolation.
