ErikAzog 3575 Share Posted October 16, 2020 The Imperial State Army Comradery is a wonderful thing. To stand side by side with men and women that share your ideals and have the same level of commitment. I am fifty-five years old. And I’ve stood by the Imperial State Army for over thirty nine years of my life. Together we have suffered through many conflicts in my time; the Rubern war, the Sutican War, and now the Inferi Conflict. Despite it being thirty nine years ago, I recall it as if it was yesterday, I had left my ancestral home of Selm that day with one intention. To join the Imperial State Army. Why? With the opportunities of the whole empire at my feet, I still chose the ISA. . As I think of the reasons why I joined the word patriotism, first comes to my mind, the duty to fight for one’s country. Growing up hearing the stories of my father’s tales of war, the duty, the honor, it inspired me to fight. Fight for something greater than myself, something greater than my name, but for a nation and a military that has done so much to protect the sanctity of our people and our Canon. I fought and spent my first years in the Imperial State Army alongside several individuals that were vastly different from what I expected. Of course there were many that came to fight for their country, but they also came to fight for the security the job provided, some were pressed into service. A vast collection of men and women with different backgrounds. Little did I know at that time that those early years would form my ideology on how the Imperial State Army should be led. What other thing than Comradeship could have kept us the Institution that we are now? Thirty nine years in the Imperial State Army, and I can recall the names of many of my comrades; Jacquelyn Cenobia, Velhrun Darkwood, Matthias Stafford, Stervon Shadowsteel, and Willem Galbraith. These names I took under my wing when I was first made a Captain of the Imperial State Army, commanding the 3rd brigade, the Imperial Dragoons. Along with those men, I made many memories that will remain with me until the end of my life. Kaedreni Barracks, est 1754. These are just a few names of many men and women I would entrust my life to. Together we have worked to support the Empire in its many tribulations. Even now knowing what faces us on the shores of Korvassa, we continue to march together, side by side. My years grow shorter, I grow older. I’ve had many changes within my life, but there is always one constant, one thing I can always count on and that is knowing that the comrades I've made in my lifetime will always be there for me. For they are family to me. Each and everyone of their names will never be forgotten to I or anyone else who have served alongside these men and women who put their lives on the line to fight for an idea of a prosperous Empire. And I will continue to do so until the end of my life. Your Lieutenant Colonel, Peter Baldwin d’Arkent. Camp Sabari, est. 1785
Da_Emperors 1987 Share Posted October 16, 2020 Lt Ledicort d’Azor stands, filled with pride as he would look over the remarks from his commander. He would offer a light smile as he glimpsed over his own experiences in the Imperial State Army; continuing, he would think of all of the comrades, allies and stories that have been built over the years. He would place down his officer’s cap upon the table. “Over the years, men like Peter Baldwin have forged the greatest army known across all the lands, the Imperial State Army. Comrades that have entered our ranks and have left, all have contributed towards the creation of this force that not only keeps the peace, but has aided in development of the greatest Empire known. Long live the Empire, Long live the Empress and may GOD continue to offer his grace towards his own.”
Jokinghills 825 Share Posted October 16, 2020 “Indeed a fine comrade, from the days where i was but an enlisted he had shown and example to the men and women of ISA. I once served under him as an enlisted, and when luck shined upon I became an officer under his watch, Now i still look towards him for leadership and guidance as a captain, truly a Example of what a soldier should be and of comradery within the ISA!” Captain Velhrun Darkwood would note and salute the Lieutenant Colonel. wyvernbro 77 Share Posted October 16, 2020 A portrait in the Peter Chivay barracks of Owynsburg hangs on the wall, bearing the image of the first Captain of the Third Brigade – Peter Baldwin d’Arkent. An image that every Imperial dragoon has known for years, as the model for every scout and cavalryman of the Empire. After reading a certain missive, Lieutenant Stafford takes a moment to look at the old portrait of his mentor and friend. With as much solemnity and respect as he can muster, he renders the image a salute. “Godspeed, comrade.”
Bawg 494 Share Posted October 17, 2020 A lone Rhenyari remembers fondly the 3rd Brigade Captain accepting him into the fold with an oath and his pledge to the Empire.“So help me GOD!” rings loud in his thoughts as he was inducted and given his reds. John Pruvia-Provins was just a boy who that wished to prove to his family and his country of his potential. From a young age, he dabbled in medicine and began to go on various combat missions that meant the difference between life and death for some. He too cemented friendships with many of his comrades, such as, Felix Haff’es, Alistair Brashton, and Azariah O’Rourke. His character was shaped by nobility he thought were above him, but John Charles and Elizabeth Anne had welcomed him and joined him in arms. The Viscount met the love of his life, Casimira de Sarkozy, in the ranks of the military and created a loving family with her. The ISA had provided for him, so it is his sworn duty to provide for the Empire he has sworn to protect. The young boy with barely a whisker on his chin had grown into a man, battling scyfling, villains, and Inferi alike. A sword in one hand and likely a Tippen’s Root salve in the other. He remembers the moment John d’Arkent asked about his son, Peter Baldwin, and his thoughts on his captain. His reply, “I would travel with him to hell and back a thousand times over.”
