A BASRIDI DEBUT

Helena on the outskirts of her family manor,  flanked by her steed Allegria and canine, Ferdinand. Beside them, flocked by pigeons, would be the lady’s mechanical bird, Faustus.

 

 

 

Some luminous day in the Spring of 1806, whence the sun was at its crest and the woodlands, rivers, and their inhabitants chirped with rousing vitality, the Household of HIH the Princess Imperial and Count Susa were in the midst of preparations for the debut of their only daughter, the Holy Squire Helena Augusta Basrid,  into Orenian society upon the arrival of Summer in the year 1807. In accordance with Orenian tradition, upon reaching the age of majority a lady is meant to be introduced to Imperial Society. 

 

However, it is the will of the Princess Imperial and Count Iskander of Susa that their only daughter’s debut exemplifies pillars of the dual cultures she has adopted throughout her young life, both inherently diverse yet complimentary in the vast mantle of humanity. 

 

The Theme of the Occasion is hereby announced to be

A Starry Night amongst the Dunes of Ba’as

 

The Proceedings of the Event will proceed as follows: 

 

1. The Princess Imperial and Count of Susa will deliver a Commencement Speech on their daughter’s virtues and accomplishments, detailing her passage from juvenescence into adulthood.

2. The Merry Jaust |  In lieu of a traditional ball, it is the desire of the honored lady that she engage in a duel with the guest of her choosing. From then on, willing guests are at the liberty to try their hand against another; the victor will be titled the Champion of Rosemoor

3. Additionally, A Reception will be held within Rosemoor Manor where guests will be invited to impart their congratulations on the honored Lady.

The young Arminger Helena Augusta had long since been sequestered by her mother in the month's preceding her debut, her days consisting of multiple fittings and preparations. Nevertheless, with the news made public, she anticipated the event - curated and attended by her intimates and fellow countrymen - with much fanfare.

Amidst an astir morning, Victoria Clementine managed a weak smile to the courier yielding her her family's invitation. Imparting such rousing news, she continues elsewhere in her room — mulling over frivolous things to divert her brooding mind.

Charlotte Augusta would prepare herself for yet another debut, though this one she particularly looked forward to. She had wanted an excuse to visit Rosemoor for some time, having heard of the idyllic garden it boasted. The young Princess was eager to see what her cousin Helena would bedeck herself in to draw the attentions of  her male suitors!
