Slander. That is what has occurred. Not only on Simon Carrington, but on his late father, the Baron of Carrington, as well.

First, let us address the ‘proof’ that Dame Anna Henrietta has brought to the table that Simon Carrington is a bastard. In truth, they have not. Only rumours of a supposed letter have been spoken of. If that was the case, would they not make it apparent to the public? Send out the copies? Why hide the truth behind meaningless words?

The only logical reasoning would be that the letter is a forgery. However, Dame Anna Henrietta would not do that, for she is an Honourable woman.

Even if the letter was not a forgery, we have no information on why the Carrington family would knowingly raise a bastard, hide it from the public and then on his 16th, cast him out of the family abruptly; to leave the 16 year old on the street and without home. Why would the Carringtons do this?  Surely the Carringtons would not act so cruelly without reason, for the Dame Anna Henrietta is an Honourable woman. Though, we have not found the reason for them doing such.

We do know, however, the reason that Simon Carrington has made a point to avoid the Carringtons. He says it is because they have mocked him, ridiculed him publicly. That he as a boy was judged and pushed aside because he did not stand for their greedy ways. Surely, however, the Dame Anna Henrietta would not do this? She is an Honourable Woman.

We are of the opinion that if the letter is a forgery, it was forged because Simon Carrington has set up a bid to run the Ivory Emporium individually, without the aid of his family. If the letter was a forgery, we are of the opinion that Dame Anna Henrietta would set up the forgery to cut Simon Carrington’s ties to his family, and thus his money, and disown him as revenge and own the Emporium as her own. But Dame Anna Henrietta would not do this, because she is clearly an Honourable woman.

Even if the letter was forged, this would mean that the Dame Anna would have lied, and would have slandered the late Baron of Carrington; calling the man that sits in the Seven Skies a dirty cheat in the process. Surely, as we can see by the Dame Anna’s previous actions, she would never do this. We all know that the Dame Anna is an Honourable woman.

In conclusion, we do not doubt the truth behind the words of the Dame Anna Henrietta, because she is obviously such an Honourable woman who would never publicly lie in the name of greed, we just wish for the proof of the letter to be presented.

Signed,

Simon Bastille d’Arkent of House Carrington

Edwin Henry de Sarkozy is starting to think Dame Anna is not an honorable woman. "Worry not, Mister Bastille, there will be justice."

Seated beside his elder brother as he fiddles about with a wooden figurine of an ISA Lieutenant, six year old Franz Oswald de Sarkozy blows a momentous raspberry. "Girls are stinky."

Maisie d’Arkent would nod while reading over the newest notice. “I know now why Conrad wanted nothing to do with my aunt-in-law. I feel horrible about all of it... at least I do not share blood with her. I wonder how Peter will react.”

She only provided a smirk at the mocking usage of the term “Honorable” as a huff of laughter escaped her unhinged lips. “How admirable. It seems the boy is all his father and none his mother. Something we should praise.”

Ludovica huffed, reading over the newest missive with a scowl. "This is'a all we've had to read all month!" She groaned, "It's gettin' old. . ."

Nudging her best friend, the young girl smirked. "Since ya' Momma's all concerned 'bout money instead of family, maybe you could be richer one day 'n prove her wrong!"

"What are we looking at, Master Sarkozy? "

The Elf would remark, his hands folded behind his back as he watched what Edwin was reading at his desk.

"Ah, the dance ....a dangerous endeavor of nobles. I caution you against getting involved, best to watch....learn. You're not ready for this dance....yet. The pieces set are too early in the game to predict victors. It is a intricate and delicate thing, and tends to have monumental consequences if you find yourselves on the wrong end. Plus it's just bad manners to engage in gossip of our Noble peers!"

After pausing a moment, not wanting to discourage the boys curiosity too much, he pulls out a map of Almaris

"Today we shall study Social-Geography...let's start with with the Li-Ren..."

Director Garret Darkwood files the letter for evidence on this entire case, he then takes a sip of tea for his splitting headache he has dealing with this matter.
