Although it may seem trivial, even childish, the game of “Hide and Seek” has been one that’s filled out Imperial halls for years. Similarly to the game of Hide and Seek the gentlemen of the Empire often go on galant hunts for the stag and various other game. The almost ancient ritual of a prey hiding and its hunter searching for it has now been spun into a luxurious ball for the elite of the Holy Orenian Empire. Lady Mary Casimira, alongside Princess Juliya of Susa have crafted an event similar to the Duke Helena’s (now His Majesty, the Holy Orenian Emperor) search for oceanic pearls game during the Lover’s Masquerade, where guests were tasked with finding pearls hidden about the palace, the gentlemen in attendance will hide around the second floor of the Augustine, much like the pearls, and the ladies will search for them. Once a pair has been made they will return to the ballroom and the gentleman they found is to be their dance partner. There are very few rules to this game, for it is up to chance- if you are meant to find a certain gentleman then you surely will.

Claude Élisabeth arrived to the Augustine palace on that day after a month's journey spent stalking, trailed by a parade of men carrying bushels of fur strips for the purpose of the ball's attire. With a conceited air, the youth began to make her rounds about the palace, endowing souvenirs of the hunt upon palace occupants.

To her pleasant surprise, Alice was given a slew of fur by the Savoyard with an ardent grin. With haste, she clapped for a servant to forward an arrangement for the masquerade.

A smile dons Mary's lips as a delivery of furs is deposited in her palatial office, her head nodding as she sifts through them, designing a dress to be made at once!
