Mickaelhz 4300 Popular Post Share Posted August 11, 2021 ELYSIUM EMBARGO 1833 [!] A bunch of Mareno Company employees load supplies onto their boat before safely departing the Norlandic harbor. Spoiler “It feels good to make money, but it doesn’t feel half as good as making a point, and coming out ahead.” - Balthazar I The heads of the Mareno Trading Company congregated, venturing off on a business meeting to Elysium, granting both of the young Mareno twins the vital experience needed, thus allowing for them to tag along. When arriving at the entrance of the nordic village, the harmless merchants and their 7-year-old nieces were met with steel blades and a wavering omen of death. Cyrus Mareno, the eldest of Balthazar’s offspring, called for a civil meeting between the main voices of both parties. This request was instantly shoved aside for the Elysians wished to keep their aggressive position, unrightfully so. A kind request was made by the Mareno party to clear the merchant grounds of soldiers within twenty seconds of their calling. The traders were being treated like bloodthirsty raiders, not possible business partners. This simple request was swiftly denied, and so the humble Marenos kept their word and left the foreign lands with no trouble brought. Nothing of importance was lost — yet a lesson was conceived on this particular, saddening day. The Elysians could not hold a peaceful assembly with tradesmen, even with their main leadership available to intervene. Due to this unfortunate encounter, the Mareno Trading Company sees no other option but to announce an official embargo on the entirety of Elysium. This trading ban will commence upon release of this mandate. It will be prohibited for any and all employees of the Mareno Trading Company to engage in any way, shape or form in trade with any Elysian associate. We will not, however, allow this depressing event to impact our business in our home cities and countries. In these horrendous times, it is important for us to remind our friends that they are majorly appreciated for not threatening the Mareno family with weapons during business meetings. For this exact reason, a small gift box valued at approximately 260 minas will be sent to the heads of the nations that have fully opened themselves up to the Marenos in regards to business. It might not be a hefty amount, but it will suffice as protection against the spawn of weaponized Elysians. The gift box will include the following : Signed, Cyrus Mareno, Patriarch of the Mareno household Jace Mareno, President of the Mareno Company Stavros Mareno, Treasurer of the Mareno Company Andronikos Mareno, Deputy Vice President of the Mareno Company Phineas Mareno, Accountant of the Mareno Company
D A N N Y 966 Share Posted August 11, 2021 Jace Mareno sunk back against the support of his chair after having reviewed and signed the missive. He'd take a long drag of his cigarette before he fetched for a small bell off his office desk, ringing for his secretary. "Call for a Company Meeting."
growingivy 3382 Share Posted August 11, 2021 One Monarch of Vortice sat back in her seat- an interesting one, this missive was. She grew tired of declarations and demands of others. The race wars, the feuds, the squabbles, all the same, day after day after day. She sat up in her seat, picking up a pen, and inked on a word in crimson."Important" is what the script read as, with an underline placed underneath. Once the ink dried, she neatly placed the parchment onto a shelf, and wrote up a note to send a reply at a later time. At a later time, a Mareno arrived to Vortice. After some small talk, the offering was accepted.
Xarkly 17299 Share Posted August 11, 2021 Firr Jace, Spasibo again for vyr gift to the Kongzem, which is especially appreciated in light of the brewing conflict against the Silver State of Haelun'or. Vy have the thanks of my papej, Koeng Heinrik II, and the people of Haense. The Mareno Company is one of great honour in a world of the honourless. Orlanth 4667 Share Posted August 11, 2021 It was early morning when Diomé Indoren awoke in his room in the Mareno Keep. He found a copy of the missive pinned to the door and read over it as he prepared himself for the day. With a smile on his face, he looked into the mirror with a Mareno brand post-it note on the top. 'Look like a winner, smile like a winner, smell like a winner, win like a winner.' A smile crossed the 'ker's face and was quickly covered by a teal bandana. He repeated the phrasing as he stepped out of his room for another day of winning, emphasizing each word. "Sell like a winner."
Minuvas 3193 Share Posted August 11, 2021 "No Respectable Orenian should be doing business with a company that beds with Ferrymen." He would remark to himself, reading this ridiculous buffoonery of a missive. "It would seem that there's business that needs settling..." The High Elf sheathed something on his belt, the glimmer of a small blade.
Arashiha 294 Share Posted August 12, 2021 "Ah yes, maybe next time don't hire a band of ferrymen as your escort when visiting... although all things considered that would be impossible for the Mareno company to separate itself from the ferrymen." Hums Lunah before tossing the missive in then pile labeled cow ****.
Frenchless_fry 269 Share Posted August 12, 2021 Cicilia Mareno looked over the letter, slowly reading it out loud to herself before stating "I think the masks are in style..its those stinky farmers that are the problem."
Sevastiel 285 Share Posted August 12, 2021 A white haired warrior chuckles to himself as he rips the missive down from a posting, head tilting just enough to send the ornaments adorning the deer like horns on his helm a-tinkling. “They who dress for battle, they who wear their swords at their belts, they who carry the enemies of their ‘friends’ on their backs, these are not peaceful folk. An odd stratagem, to be sure.” The man rolls his shoulders, muscles shifting under the pelt about them, and idly discards the note as he strides off without a care. Slapacookie 39 Share Posted August 12, 2021 (edited) *Sat upon the silver throne as he receives this missive. His eyes widen as he used to be part of the Norlandic region, memories of his past come to the present and with a heavy sigh he begins to write down a missive and send it off to The Mareno Company for a meeting. *While waiting for the meeting to start he pops open some Smiling dwarf brew. "Looks like Ando Alur has a chance at making some more allies, after the shuul have been removed we may need more in any case they come back." He mutters to himself. After the meeting had concluded and handshakes have been made Ando Alur decided to accept the offering.
