Father Paco kept to himself the day The Lectorate of Owyn received news of Toast's demise. He'd eat the rest of the tres leche cake he shared with Toast the Saint's day before by his lonely and wept until the dementia took his cognitive functions and he passed out in a stupor.

Oijin had not received the news yet from his farm in Yong Ping and continued fishing off his straw roof - waiting in futile for Toast to come back for more alchemy lessons.

Spoiler

He did it his way

Kin having been at the edict the time of the attack he had not yet known of the Musin's death but he was soon to find out. Walking around the farm about to start farming only to come across something laying in the filed of carrots. A small scrap of leather hooked to a small cutlass, something that a familiar musin would have held and used in many battle. the sheath weapon stained black & charred from an explosion that had proplled it far from the camp. The 'feral' elf moved to pick it up carefully thinking it was a dream a gut feeling something was wrong "What are you doing out here" he asked words falling only onto his ears as he moved to the back of the farm only to see the pirates running about trying to fix what little they had left. Kin could feel a sinking feeling in his chest as he looked down at the small cutlets & belt he held in his hands memories of the Musin flashed in his mind. Like how sad Toast got when he couldn't blow up the ship that got away from hanging out with the Lectors and he got to carry the musin for a time giving piggy back rides around as they walked. One of the first times he met toast when he played his banjo in oren then later snuck him into the palaces only for him to start playing in there while they were giving a boring lecture on poetry only for the crazy 2ft tall fur ball to make it better. How he often came up to Kin only to share with him his love for bananas. The musin showing him his will'o bottles he had just bought and or made. Toast 'accidentally' killing an Olog with say will'o bottles. The last one he had of the musin was him going off to play chess with Nutmeg not knowing that was going to be that last time he saw him. Tears running down his face as he remembered the mighty musin in all his glory. He'd then set off to the Musin farm to give them what he had found of Toast hoping they could make a memorial in his memory

Takai Eiji would mourn the brilliant and brave musin, "He was truly the best of us."

The slouched figure of a Dark Dwedess slowly traveled through the wilderness, blind to the true destination of her aimless wandering, the coppery tang of blood thick upon her tongue as the uneven shaft of an arrow jutted from her back. The clouded thoughts still fresh upon the surface of her mind continued to play over and over; the tightened bindings around her wrists and ankles, the shouting of threats against her life from her captors. The sudden eruptions of fire and blasts of heat as voices and shouts rang out within the encampment. The clash of metal upon metal and the quick acting Musin who invaded the grounds to pounce upon their leader and rend their throat open. Although wounded, the young Doomforged had escaped with her life barely intact as the struggle continued towards the goal in mind..

A certain dyslexic Musin stares down at her crumb-ridden fur, the young Musin slumped over as they'd heard of the news. Toast was someone she looked up to and aspired to be like, having heard so many stories of his greatness. Sad mumblings are heard as the child Musin gorged themselves on food to eat away their feelings.

Yunya of the Chen household heard the  news through the  grapevine, unsure entirely what to think but nonetheless, brought her two daughters to the temple, kneeling before the tatami mats settled before Hualian. Prayers are uttered and candles are lit and she knew she'd have to explain to her daughters that the Musin staying with them was no more. How could she ever think to explain?

Lilia Yl'asath would eventually hear of the Musins death. She remembers him being the first she had ever met in her Mali'ker city of shadow and stone. The now grown woman would think of a time she cried alone as a child, and the kindness the Musin known as Toast offered to her when nobody else would have given her the time of day.. He sat with her while she waited for family to return, he spoke to her of some rat people, the topic of which escapes her now. With him gone now, she regretted not being nicer to him in her later years.. taunting, mean, and bitter to the Musin that deserved more than her attitude. A hero, and one she wished she had gotten to know a little better.
