To the peers and citizens of the Holy Orenian Empire,

In this last saint’s week, we have paid witness to a great time of uncertainty and conflict in our imperium. A change in monarch, a continuation of war, and a schism have made these last few months a time that shall go down in history as one of the most tumultuous periods in our nation’s existence. Now is the time to attend to one’s life, placing value upon those things which matter most to you. Be it family, a business, or a tract of land. We must all learn to appreciate what we have, because life can take from us all in the blink of an eye.

My late-husband, Prince Philip Aurelian, had not expected to perish. He and I spoke just a saint’s day before his unexpected death, on topics varying from our eventual coronation to how we might sponsor the endeavors of our grandchildren. I admit before you all that whilst his heart had remained with his beloved first wife, Princess Amadea, we held a great respect for one another that kept us close friends. Where before I was an impoverished widow with two daughters, I was granted the great gift of several stepchildren and several more grandchildren upon the day of our union. For that, I shall be forever grateful to him. He provided me with a family to protect me, and fill my days with joy. I know, had misfortune not befallen him, he would have reigned over you all with the same enthusiasm and care he maintained in his life. No friendship was more important to him than his relationship with you, the people of the Empire.

Since his passing, our Oren has been rife with division, confusion, and uncertainty. I have sometimes been left to ponder if he was the one who could’ve stood fast and held firm through much of this ordeal. He was always keen to seek advice and wisdom on matters of importance, so I wholeheartedly believe Philip Aurelian would have acted more decisively and carefully in regards to recent happenings, perhaps even preventing them altogether. With that opinion, it troubles me that those closest to him have not taken up the initiative themselves, to mourn the loss of the once-heir to the imperial throne. It falls to his widow instead, with not even a body to properly obtain funeral rites for. Perhaps that speaks to his legacy, one that intimidates those who come after. Sadly, we shall never know what the reign of Emperor Philip Aurelian would’ve been. His existence was stolen from him without any care for the person whose life was being taken out of their own hands. The greatest sin of humanity, in my eyes, is to claim the life of another in cold blood.

May GOD bless Prince Philip Aurelian Novellen, Duke of Adria and Count of Renzfeld. Once-heir to the Imperial Throne of the Holy Orenian Empire.

Son. Husband. Father. Grandfather.

Orenian.

Signed,

HIH, the Dowager-Duchess of Adria, Charlotte Augusta

Her Imperial Highness and the House Tuvyic of Woldzmir invite all peers and citizens of the Holy Orenian Empire, alongside any outside admirers or well-wishers, to attend to the Kremlin so that we might honor His Imperial Highness. Offerings and candles may be placed near the gates of the keep, with mourners allowed to maintain place upon the adjoining bridge and hillside. The Dowager-Duchess will address the people during the ceremony before leading them in prayer. At the vigil’s conclusion, a murder of crows will be released into the sky by the Baroness Woldzmir, this being a Woldzkiy tradition with the intent of guiding Philip Aurelian’s soul to the Seven Skies.

[!] Due to concern regarding the safety of those within the Kremlin, the gates of Woldzmir will remain closed for the duration of the vigil. Entry will only be permitted at the discretion of the Baroness Woldzmir or Baron-Consort.

An Illatian fellow took note of this, adding it to a calendar within his office- should his letter to the peers of Woldzmir be responded to, he would gladly attend if allowed entry.

Moliana's screams are heard in tandem with the shrieking of crows as she wrestles them into their respective cages before the ceremony.  She emerged into the Kremlin's courtyard in a disheveled state and a heavy frown.  "I hate birds," she mutters to herself.

Joseph Clement de Sarkozy sent a bouqet of flowers to the keep of Dobrov. A Lorraine cross would be attached it so it could be used during Church-Mass and prayer eta cetera.

Maxim, upon hearing of this gathering of Orenians, along with Charlotte's own letters, ponders on his regret for having delivered the body of Philip Aurelian to the Aster Court rather than this grieving widow. His concerns further multiplied, for he now knows that forces within this Imperial Court had conspired to assassinate the would be emperor - he clicks his tongue, disappointed.

Though a commoner with no ties to the deceased Philip, the sight of the prince at rest within the ruins of Krusev had stirred this Haeseni soldier to his current state of mind - a prince that had aspirations to rule an empire, cut short cruelly by the machinations of political intrigue, a cathartic end to a life. Perhaps, for the sake of his restive mind, he shall offer this prince one final thought at Woldzmir, and finally put himself at ease.

Adrian Marcellus laughed in the face of the missive he received, having himself completely recovered from the losses that his Grandfather had served his family in the first year of his return from exile. "The loathsome broad can't leach off of her dead husband for much longer. She ought to engage some fat Barbanov instead, or rot away in Woldzmir until she chokes on one of the rats they serve in that dump." He had no sympathy for the women, an ugly trophy wife from a corrupt bygone era
