THE WINTER REGENCY
1852

Published on behalf of His Serene Highness

In consideration of the second chance that was issued to me by his Holiness, Everard VI, I have come to realize the pious path is one which requires dedication, introspection, and time. GOD has set out the path for each of our lives with reason and thought, yet there comes a time in which I must ruminate and rediscover that path within. Within the scroll which was received by the Exalted Horen it is written, “So I am the Most High, and in pursuit of My Virtue, I bid my faithful this: You shall keep fast to your word and station, and aspire not to greatness among men, but to My glory.”  Those are words I must learn to live by, especially in recent times where it is needed to assess what actions I must take for the Savoyard people to remain on the most righteous path as one with the flock of GOD.

To do right by the people, to do right by the virtues of GOD, I must depart for a pilgrimage. The Principality of Savoy will not be left in unjust hands or unguided, hence an announcement of a brief Regency while I am underway of a Pilgrimage. From now until the time I return, or even if I should not, I formally declare Vasileia Ekaterini Basrid as Lady Regent of Savoy to head a regency council. It is in Vasileia Ekaterini Basrid and the Council that I trust the care of the betterment of Savoy and it’s decisions here on out until my return.

The regency council will consist of the following;
Lady Regent Vasileia Ekaterini Basrid
Serene Princess-Consort Catherine de Savoie
Vizier William Corwin Alstion
Lord Scrivener Philippe Sainte-Blandine, 1st Baron of Caer Hodden
Lord Commander Elijah Keen, 1st Baron of Kensford
Grand Knight Ulrich Alstreim, Langrave of Alstreim
Count of Niseep Lucien de Bar

IN NOMINE DEI,
His Serene Highness Olivier II, Prince of Savoy, Duke of Corazon, Count of San Luciano, etcetera.

Wind of the regency of his former liege would reach the former Count of Freimark, now Hieromonk Ernst. He huffed as he prayed for Olivier. He'd then read through the parchment and tilt his head "Hm, wonder why Ulrich isn't part of the regency" he pondered, but then waved his hand in dismissal, turning back to his prayer.

Scoffing at the notice Gowther would toss it into the crashing waves below, "It seems are are forgotten once more." the man b*tched to the goat before him. With a groan he would run off to find his twin.

The Princess of Savoy, Catherine Johanna, was the last to see her husband before his departure. Adjusting his modest tunic and fastening his satchel as the Prince readied himself to mount the Royal Stead, Benedictus, she told him fondly, “Return to us in gutt health, Olivier, so together we may fulfill the will of GOTT presented in our dreams.”

"Arrivederci, pape!" A petite voiced called to her father, hands bashfully folded behind the back.

A bouquet of white roses are sent to the Lady Regent, encircled by a golden band that has a small note attached to it, sealed by a wax stamp depicting the House of Furnestock. It reads as follows;

Best wishes on your regency, Lady Vasileia. I am but a letter away.

Signed,

Anastasya

The governess straightened her back and began looking and checking all the gifts for poison. Blue eyes darting over each little thing, before setting then on top of the feast table for the regency to see. Thinking back to the last words spoken to her from the princely family.

Stefaniya vas Ruthern strays her mind back to when her dear friend, Prince Lucien had seen his father take a walk of penance, and how it made him utterly depressed. She couldn't help but to hear from Her Highness, The Princess of Savoy, that her husband had departed once more, and prayers were sent up to Godani for Lucien, and she thought to take a visit with a gift for him. @Milenkhov
