"They who know of sacred flame though may ever claim of an isle filled with rage can be cast away from Onyx Glades. Where sleeping lay in ashen reeds, to dream of better days that ever change, will sway in all that came. From the center of all divided by spaces between shall ever be seen. Made manifest the children of dream, of ambitions glee for better things. Those that know yet hide can never yet ever change for simple things is the lkord of dreams. From primordial dials gather the servants of yore, spurn to all. And in dimlit halls of the world talks that which knew and knows all. To hunger and scream beyond all means. That which hides knowledge and gathers power beneath the archon lord beneath a sun of dread calls forth the light of the dead. Where no honor can be found in hallow grounds a prison of yore made free to all yet freedom of none can be found within. For thee that have known no true pain have no true gain, yet no true gain begot of pain for begon age. There shall be a dark flame and within its finest hours all show know its claim"

Maehr of Nor'asath naturally retain the right to announce to any member of the Onyx Sanctum they seek to complete the Rite of Maehr. This Rite will decide if the Maehr is able and willing to become a member of the Onyx Sanctum. Devotion to the spirits is proven over the course of Two Elven weeks. During this peroid, the Maehr in question is to be taken to caverns and mostly, left to their own devices. Given little but a spear, means to create fire and cook food. The Maehr will prove they can live beneath the earth before they can prove they can live above it. Their first kill within the caverns in most hallow. The Mali'ker will be required to eat the heart of the first beast slain. This animal will serve as a promise to their future.

Once the Maehr has completed the rite, the member of Onyx that issued it will bring them forth to the shrine of Luara. Where devotion is marked, by gifting something that can not be returned to Luara. Be it blood, an item of personal value or beyond. The devotee then is to be marked with the call of mother moon upon the back of the neck. A phase of the moon branded or tattooed onto the body as a sign of devotion.

Those that wish to tread the waters of both military service to the Ashen Realm and devotion to the Old Ways will be subject to the Rite of Maehr. Their armorment will be adorned with the etching of mothermoon upon the right pauldron to show the progress of their path. Their journey that of action. These devotees are to erect shrines of Mother Moon and the spirits across the realm of Nor'asath and Braevos. Showing members of the Onyx Sanctum these shrines. This period, unlike the Rite of Maehr, lasts for Four Elven Weeks.

It is as these shrines that the Devotee will conduct two grand rituals of praise and or sacrifice. Upon completion, the armorment they adorn is granted a second mark. The left pauldron to be etched with the Gate of Kor, as sign of devotion to the walk towards Stargush. The Devotee is then required to hunt down, and slay a Direwolf. For the body to be taken to the Shrine of Luara at the top of the Maehr Temple in Nor'asath. The body to be gifted to mother moon if hallowed flame. The heart of the creature, to be devoured by the Devotee.
