ISSUED ON THE 10th of Julia ag Piov, 502 E.S. | 10th of Owyn’s Flame, 1949 VA BIRODEO HERZENAV AG EDLERVIK,It is with great grief and mourning that the Barony of Verskaya announces the passing of one of its founders, Lady Manon Yvaine Godunov. She passed peacefully in her sleep on the night of the 5th of Wzuvar ag Byvca, 500 E.S. She will forever be cherished in the hearts of her children and grandchildren as a woman of sharp wit, bright mind, and warm heart. Outside of the home, Lady Manon was renowned for her works in Alchemical Philosophy, and held the position of Esrova Court Alchemist for 25 years, beginning in the late days of Koenas Sofia’s reign, in the year 475 E.S. She was a beloved teacher and mentor to the youth of Haense for many generations, both before and during her tenure as Court Alchemist. Her loss weighs heavily on the hearts of her family, but her efforts to establish House Godunov alongside her husband, Baron Sviatoslav, and her scholastic efforts will not be forgotten. May her heart rest easily in the Skies. SIGNED, Her Ladyship, Alyona Rhetta Sviatovna Godunov,Baroness of Verskaya
ncarr 2262 Share Posted November 2, 2023 Marjoreya peruses the missive with narrowed eyes, a familiar scowl upon her countenance as the words weigh one-by-one on her mind. Her nostrils flare, tossing the parchment, which she had taken from the notice board upon which it was posted - believing it had a better place with herself, into the flames of the hearth. It was no doubt her grandmother's death would be public knowledge no matter her actions, whether she burned the announcement or not, though she believed - in some childlike way - perhaps it would be undone if she burned the announcement. Though, in her heart of hearts, she knew this to be a lie; her grandmother was gone.
DahStalker 2881 Share Posted November 2, 2023 Adela Taronitissa de Leuven mourned for the distant relative. Although she had not occupied herself with the public eye nor general populace, she felt some sort of pity for the Godunov family. Priscilla welcomed Manon to hell
craneia 103 Share Posted November 2, 2023 A forlorn daughter weeps - news of her mother's passing just hardly reaching her hideout, sickly white peaks engulfed in eternal darkness.
esotericas 1595 Share Posted November 2, 2023 Self Portrait. Manon Yvaine Godunov. Oil on canvas. 1938. •─────────────────────•✦•─────────────────────• It is the depths of a long, long winter. There is no wind to whistle through eaves, or crickets to chirp. The night is still and cold and silent. The halls of the Alchemist are still and cold and silent. There is a letter delivered by a bone-white owl. It is still and cold and silent. The letter lands on the desk of one ALYONA RHETTA SVIATOVNA GODUNOV. It is addressed to her. The handwriting is familiar. •─────────────────────•✦•─────────────────────• ALYONA: I am dead. You will find my body on the north shore of the river. You may say what you wish about how I passed. I have not decided how I will do it. I leave you my library. A key is enclosed. FIND MISCHA. Do not seek if you do not wish to know. M.Y.G. P.S. “FORGIVE ME. FOR ALL THE THINGS I DID, BUT MOSTLY FOR THE ONES THAT I DID NOT.” •─────────────────────•✦•─────────────────────• “THIS IS NOT WHERE OUR STORY ENDS.
