AN INVITATION TO THREE MONTHS OF FESTIVITIES

To the people of the heartlands, with the end of His Majesty's regency on his eighteenth name-day, we invite those of our realm and our allies abroad to join the house of Alstion in the Merriment celebration of King Edmund.

 

The Festivities shall occur throughout three Saints Days, opening with the coronation of the new High Pontiff. On the second day of the celebration, a tourney will be held in the King's honour. On the final day of the celebration, a Ball will be held within the Hand of Horen, where the King's court will serve the finest food and drinks of Aaun. Gifts are most welcomed.
 

DAY ONE - GODFREY’S TRIUMPH

 

His Majesty, His Household and Government, will be attending the enthronement of the High Pontiff at the Temple of the Exalted Prophets, in Whitespire, for contemplation, celebration and coronation.

THE KINGS TOURNEY  - TOBIAS’S BOUNTY

 

The commencement of the King's Name Day celebration will take place on the first day with a brief Blessing from the Church, followed by the Tourney of St. Edmund. 

 

Merchants

The Tourney will be held within the festival grounds of Whitespire, which will provide an opportunity for merchants to establish their shops free of charge.

 

Joust

Contestants will participate in jousting to compete for the prestigious title of Champion of Whitespire, which is currently held by . 

 

Archery

Shooters of particular skill from within the Realm and abroad  are challenged to participate in a competition of peers for a prize of two-hundred fifty marks and a purpose-made crossbow by gift of His Majesty.

 

Duel

The most rewarding event of the day will be a duel hailing from all surrounding realms are invited to join in, with the victor receiving a personalised gift from His Majesty.

THE BALL OF ST. EDMUND - SUN’S SMILE

 

His Majesty the King - whose readings of scripture are extensively documented - desirous of emphasising the Royal Household’s piety, has declared that the theme for this year’s Autumn Ball shall be ‘Virtue and Vice’. 

 

Celebrants are invited to wear, or be prepared to speak, about their chosen virtue or vice, and are warmly recommended to come as a corresponding pair. His Majesty’s personal piety is well noted, and celebrants are advised to attend with a quotation from scripture to elaborate their choice.

 

There will be a competition and prize for best prepared couple and for best prepared individual. The details of which will be announced during the ball.
