can't believe they made frost simps for the frost mommies ((fake cold heralds))

I wonder what an interaction between a Herald and a Jøkul will look like...

looks really cool, but this will only work with an active frost witch playerbase which last time I checked didn't really exist. feel free to correct me if wrong, regardless I hope this passes

lets just deny any attempts for the fw playerbase to get back on their feet instead, that will help them out

The FWs consistently face challenges in engaging with the community overall, encountering negative sentiments. Dealing with adverse role-playing outcomes from events or combat is undesirable, yes, but it happens - a lot of players just refuse to accept this and go to any means necessary to prevent such. This leads to metagaming, refusal to RP, wasted time, etc. I doesn't surprise me that the witches apparently have had phases of activity levels over the years, because it seems like playing one could get very frustrating.

I'm fully supportive of any efforts to make them relevant again +1

I feel like I should make something very clear to all those who may have misinterpreted my last post (how?): I do not want the Frost Witch community to fail. Rather, I want them to succeed, become active and enjoy their RP whilst providing RP to others, as all successful spook covens do.

that said,

blaming the up-and-down activity from fwitches on a playerbase unwilling to accept conflict is beyond delusional. look at the player events that groups like the undead legion or whatever it is have done; entire villages have been razed, NLs mutilated and captured. our current playerbase is not nearly as consequence averse as you may try to gaslight.

there's clearly something wrong with the current model, though, and I (and everyone who actually knows what they're talking about) would not blame it on a risk-averse playerbase but instead a clunky, ritual-based shit lorepiece that needs to be rewritten

and yk love my frost witch homies but with reflection I don't think this piece is the way to go about it without major reform. because of the 'frost knight' thing you're overwhelmingly going to receive male personas (because that is the overwhelming majority of the knight demographic) who will then forever be stuck as fake cold heralds with kinda weak lore and unable to ever progress with this dark magic aesthetic because fwitches are entirely locked behind being female. that's not a good long term activity model. this lorepiece is basically being brought in to help give crutches of players and activity (and being able to do rituals !) to an ailing playerbase and in my personal opinion while on principle that isn't a bad thing, unless the next frost witch rewrite permits for male players to take on a version of the CA too then jokul will fall inactive as well. drop the misandry theme altogether and embrace the more religious roleplay that leyd inspired and wrote; if you're unable to countenance that, if the misandry is an ESSENTIAL part of your CA then maybe it deserves to die tee hee. always happy to write a patrick bateman magma warlock incel-esque 'I hate women' lorepiece to show that particular double standard for what it is

that's just my advice and opinion. again I want to clarify before you all jump on me that I DO want frost witches (and warlocks ?) to succeed and I AM NOT SAYING that the frost witches should burn and die and that I DO want this lorepiece to be accepted, or at least a version of it. a weaker FA version of frost witches leading up to it isn't a bad idea and I do like the concept but feel that the future fwitch lorewrite should include male frost warlocks or whatever you want to call them. it's just common sense and gives reward for dedication and RP and the production of a narrative

on another note these are basically the same spells as heralds; summoning weapons, healing spells, manipulation of fire ice, this is all classic herald stuff. would be nice to see some more originality or perhaps utilisation of the themes established in leyds religious stuff (did you notice I'm a fan?) in the magic abilities. beyond that I have no actual issues with the lore and it all looks thumbs up

How many magic slots will they have?

It's a FA (Aka a 'Feat') those do not take up any magic slots.
Although due to its rather special nature it does lock you out of some magics as is stated in It, but yeah, It takes up no Magic Slots.

Yeah but it's gonna be swapped for a CA it's not gonna be allowed as an FA it'll take up magic slots

Not exactly sure what you are talking about.?
When a Jokul is properly cursed into becoming a Fjarriagua (As long as they meet the criteria needed to become one) they will be forced to abandoned their Jokul FA (Which takes up ZERO Magic slots) as it is replaced by the Fjarriagua CA (Which takes up Three Magic Slots).

This lore has been denied.

Apologies for the long review, but this hadn't made it to the full administration and I take the blame of it's denial (and unforgiveably lengthy delay) upon myself.

Truthfully, I don't think this is going to supplement frost witches well, or will solve their current issues. I think systemically, the playerbase has proven really difficult to not only work with from a ST and Player perspective, but inter-playerbase as well which the frequency the team gets complaints of it.

I'd really,  before seeing an improvement with Jokul fixed by a ghoul-type CA, would want to see the CA itself improve. Not necessarily the lore, but activity; frost witches have been fairly inert for the length of this map (and the latter half of last, as well), and while I'm not necessarily looking at numbers I am moreso remarking on their ability to interact with and work with other playerbases.

I think the CA going on an extremely hot-cold cycle of activity for days then inactivity for weeks to months followed by an extremely detrimental and negative view of it's own players, playerbase, other playerbases, lore, and frequent support, has been nothing but detrimental to itself and it's players.

Before any supplements or additions aimed to fix the CAs issues, I want to see the CA fix itself to where the core issue holds, and not hoping a goontype CA can come in and fix it.

This comes off as harsh, and that I know, and it can be perceived as spitting upon the effort a lot of people have put into their work and roleplay. Unfortunately, I think there is a long way to go in the CA succeeding but it is not my intent to say the CA or its players are bad. I am just out of options on how to say what the problem is in the nicest way possible.

This CA can succeed, it's players can succeed, and it's roleplay can succeed. We saw it earlier last map with an even worse version of the current lore, and years too before that. I know it can happen, and I know it can work, and it's this mentality that has shattered the morale of the lore and its useage at the moment.

Once this happens, we can consider expanding and giving more assets to the playerbase.

I apologize for the poor, very late news, have a great day.

      Stein's Final Moments
Alone, that was the feeling he felt, as he laid on the table in the surgical room in the Hohkmat clinic. Fear made itself  known as well, as he was recently cured from vampirism in that very room. The fear only grew as the restraints seemed to get tighter and the room spinning. Two others made there way in, separate, and at different times. They were once friends, family even if it came down to it. But his actions caused them to forget him as someone good. Hour's passed by as Stein, now called Almer, laid there on the surgical table, waiting for his fate to be decided. The door creaked open and his restraints came loose, allowing himself to sit up. His fate had been decided, the only thing he could do, was make it painless. The choices were simple, die a painful death, or be put to sleep, feeling nothing. The decision was simple, as he took the Nightsap juice given to him.

Before drinking, memories of his life flashed in his mind, memories of his childhood on his farm with his family, that he had forgotten so long ago. Now taking a drink of the juice, memories of his time in Reinmar, the friends he made that grew into a family outside of his original home on the farm. And as he slowly drifted away, his memories were of his new friends, now wishing him dead. The last image that made it's way to his mind was everyone he knew, gathered together. Almost like a final farewell, even though he did not deserve it. As his death drew near a tear rolled down his face, before his heart stopped, his limbs and body turning cold, and his image, slowly fading away, into the darkness, as he drew his very last breath.

      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      OOC NOTE:
Finally, after almost three months of playing as Stein/Njal/Almer, I have finally made the decision to pk him. This wasn't the ending I wanted for him, however this is the ending I am giving him. I am taking this time to thank everyone that was a part of his life, these past three months on the server have been a blast. Stein and myself have made a lot of friends that I hope to keep and play along side them with other characters I make. So for those reading this thank you and to anyone that knows, give a salute as "The Stone Fortress" has finally fallen.

I will now take the time to thank those that have impacted Stein's life greatly @FunkehMelon @melonth @ickyNuN @confusedjester @Rocky_Wolf @SmothBM  @Irishmanmichael  and of course many more that I am sadly too lazy to actually search up and apologize for it. However though not everyone that has impacted Stein's life will be on here, I have not forgotten you and will never forget you. So thank you all for the fun three months, and I will see you all in my next lives <3!
