TO OUR DENIZENS OF THE MARCHLANDS,

The House of Dresnay grieves for the loss of its patriarch, the Baron of Valcour, Sir Tristand Jean Dresnay. The Baron had fought at the frontlines, valiantly leading the men of the Dresnay Levy into battle. It is said that Sir Tristand had felled many a foe before being wounded by a stray arrow. Despite the mortal wound, the Baron continued to fight with unwavering determination. Not one to be deemed a coward, Sir Tristand held his ground and fought whilst the forces of the Coalition retreated from the League’s relentless onslaught. However, the toll of such a blow on his body had become undeniable and amidst the chaos which unfolded upon the battlefield, the Baron of Valcour would eventually succumb to his injuries, having fought to avenge his murdered brother.

RECQUIESCAT EN PACE

TRISTAND JEAN DRESNAY

BARON OF VALCOUR

In light of the Baron’s untimely passing, let it be known to all that, in accordance with the established laws of succession within the Marchlands of Stassion, the titles and fortunes of the late Baron Valcour are to be inherited by his firstborn son, Pierre Langlois Dresnay. As we grieve the passing of one Baron, so too do we turn our gaze in eager anticipation of a new era under the leadership of the newly made Baron.

Lesha considers this news carefully. To be honest... the affairs of the baron never interested her. She always needed something with more excitement. For if she was not excited, she felt next to nothing at all. Still... she has her musings. The passage of titles and fortune... there is always some gossip to be found in that. She's sorry the man died, really, but she's far more interested in what everyone will have to say about it.

In Tristand Jean's final moments, the only thought that lingered in his mind was the bitter realization that he couldn't avenge Louis. He layed lifeless on the battlefield, meeting the same fate as his eldest brother had before him.

“A shame. He was truly a good man,” Teobold solemnly said. “The world could use more men like Tristand.”

The Protector of the Marchlands, Richard I, lowered his head upon reading the missive of one of his closest friend's deaths being confirmed, he was there at the Battle of Westmark but they were separated, he said a quiet prayer and lit a candle for his lost brother-in-arms.
