Summons of Grover Reid and Jennifer Monrow for Trial

LET IT BE KNOWN, that, due to a voluntary confession of criminal business and actions, GROVER REID ‘John Riley’ is being summoned by the Magisterium of Balian, to defend himself against the following charges:

 

• 1 Count of Disobedience of the Royal Office, a Crime of Treason (“Lex Criminalis Art. IV.011D - Where an individual refuses a direct order of a member of the Royal Family or Duana, this shall be the crime of Disobedience, a felony.”): For disobeying direct orders from the Royal Magister of Balian to hand over evidence for the crimes he claimed to have committed..

• 1 Count of Consorting with Darkspawn (“Lex Criminalis Art V.08C) - Where an individual is found to be intentionally and knowingly harboring, hiding, or aiding Dark Mages or Creatures, this shall be the crime of Aiding in Dark Magic, a felony.”): For working with and befriending darkspawn in order to create Boom Fuel.

• 1 Count of Possessing Illegal Substances (“Lex Criminalis Art IV.02A) - Where an individual knowingly possesses illegal substances, literature, or items, this shall be the crime of Contraband, an infraction.”): For possessing Boom Fuel and wizard powder, both considered to be contraband drugs.

 

• 1 Count of Distributing Illegal Substances (“Lex Criminalis Art  IV.02B) - Where an individual knowingly sells, markets, purchases, or transfers ownership of illegal substances, literature, or items, this shall be the crime of Contraband, a misdemeanor.  ”): For selling and distributing Boom Fuel and wizard powder, both considered to be contraband drugs.

• 1 Count of Manufacturing Illegal Substances (“Lex Criminalis Art IV.02C) - Where an individual knowingly manufactures illegal substances, literature, or items, this shall be the crime of Contraband, a felony. ”): For cooking Boom Fuel and wizard powder, both considered to be contraband drugs.

• 1 Count of Concealing Identity (“Lex Criminalis Art VI.02A) - Where an individual intentionally conceals or hides one's identity to an agent of the law, this shall be the crime of Concealment of Identity, an infraction. ”): Concealing his identity with a helm and refusing to remove it from his person when requested to.

• 1 Count of Obstruction of Justice (“Lex Criminalis Art IV.03A) - Where an individual interferes with, obstructs the progress of, or otherwise hinders government officials and prosecutors during the apprehension or investigation of a criminal or criminal activity, this shall be the crime of Obstruction, an infraction. ”): For tampering with evidence and destroying an investigation site.

• 1 Count of Vigilantism (“Lex Criminalis Art VI.03A) - Where an individual intentionally apprehends, convicts, or punishes another individual of a crime but is not an agent of the law or given permission by the Royal Office, this shall be the crime of Vigilantism, a felony.”): For attempting to go undercover and thwart a group of criminals without the permission of the Magister’s office nor Crown.

• 1 Count of Disrespect (“Lex Militaris Art II.05A) - Where an individual uses contemptuous language or displays profound disrespect against a member of the Duana or the Royal House, this shall be Royal Disrespect, a Felony.”): For disrespecting the Marshall and Magister.

• 1 Count of Insubordination and Disobedience (“Lex Militaris Art II.06B) - Where an individual violates or fails to obey a general order or advisory from the Duana or Royal Family, this shall be Disobedience, a Felony.”): For disobeying the Magister and Constable of Balian.

• 1 Count of Insubordination and Disobedience (“Lex Militaris Art  II.06C) - Where an individual willfully disobeys a direct order from someone of senior rank and authority, this shall be Insubordination, a Felony.”): For disobeying the Marshall and other higher ranking officers. 

 

LET IT BE KNOWN, that, due to being implicated in a confession of criminal business and actions, JENNIFER MONROW is being summoned by the Magisterium of Balian, to defend herself against the following charges:

 

• 1 Count of Disobedience of the Royal Office, a Crime of Treason (“Lex Criminalis Art. IV.011D - Where an individual refuses a direct order of a member of the Royal Family or Duana, this shall be the crime of Disobedience, a felony.”): For disobeying direct orders from the Royal Magister of Balian to hand over evidence for the crimes he claimed to have committed..

• 1 Count of Concealing Identity (“Lex Criminalis Art VI.02A) - Where an individual intentionally conceals or hides one's identity to an agent of the law, this shall be the crime of Concealment of Identity, an infraction. ”): Concealing their identity with a mask and refusing to remove it from their person when requested to.

• 1 Count of Obstruction of Justice (“Lex Criminalis Art IV.03A) - Where an individual interferes with, obstructs the progress of, or otherwise hinders government officials and prosecutors during the apprehension or investigation of a criminal or criminal activity, this shall be the crime of Obstruction, an infraction. ”): For tampering with evidence and refusing to hand it over.

 

To answer to these above-mentioned allegations, GROVER REID and JENNIFER MONROW are summoned by the Magisterium of Balian to trial within the next SIX Saint’s Days. If they should not appear within the appointed period, they shall be deemed guilty of Absconding (Lex Criminalis IV.04A - Where an individual fails or intentionally avoids surrendering oneself to the custody of Royal Officials at the appropriate time, this shall be the crime of Absconding, and in the case of the awaiting trial immediately confirms guilt, dismissing the need for lawful hearing.”) and shall be considered Guilty of the aforementioned crimes, and thus Banished forthwith and from henceforth from the Kingdom of Balian on pain of death.

 

In addition, the following are requested to appear in court as witnesses to the aforementioned crimes: Dame Gwenyth Vilac-Vuiller, Dhen Ma’al, Isaac Vuiller and Ser Demetrius var Ruthern

 

Due to a conflict of interest, being the Prosecutor and main Investigator, the Magister has recused herself for this trial, thus leaving the role of Kritai for the trial to Her Majesty, Queen Sybille I, His Royal Excellency, Don Kristoff var Ruthern, or to The Most Honorable, Ser Robert Joseph de Lyons, whom she is allowing to oversee this trial if necessary, making an exception to Article XI of Processus Iudicialis due to his previous experience in the office and her inability to try the case due to her recusal.
