[!] Letters would be sent to people across Avoes

As you all know, war is upon us. In a month's time we must pick up our swords to defend Vikela against the orcs of Lurak. As your leader I feel as though I have failed, I still wonder how I could have avoided this, what could I have done to protect Vikela from such a fate, but I could not think of anything. The orcs reasoning for war is still something I do not understand. They have said that the spirits are upset with us Vikelians because of our structures but I have not once heard of such from the spirits, and no other spiritualist or shamans have heard of such, only the orcs. Which makes me wonder even more, is protecting the forest really their true intentions? If it was, why did you burn the tree that grew within my vassal? I stare at the once beautiful golden tree now engulfed in flames, is this what protecting the forest means?

To my once ally, Lurin. I have seen your missives. You have said that Vikela did not choose the option of peace, saying that this is a fight not worth fighting, but I ask, what peace option was there? The option they gave us demanded we leave our lands whether we win or lose, where is the peace in that? When at the end of the day, they want my people to leave their homes.

To my allies in Vortice, I hold no anger towards you. You did what you must to keep your own people safe. Any good leader would do the same, thank you for letting it be known that you will take in refugees of Vikela, for that I am eternally grateful.

And to the last part of this missive, I have decided to publicly inform you all that during these times of war, I have found it necessary to step down for the time as we need an experienced leader for the war. I hereby ascend Cerrick Fenifaer to the rank of Lord Marshal and hand over control of Vikela to him, I believe with him leading during these times, Vikela will have a chance.

To my citizens, please, stand up. Please let go of your fear, pick up your swords and fight. If we let the enemy scare us into submission before we’ve even fought, then we have already lost. Pick up your swords and fight for your home, for your loved ones, for your friends and for your freedom to live. If the orcs want our home, then we will have them fight for it, we will have them work for it like how we worked to build Vikela into the place it is now. I look forward to fighting alongside you all as we stand for what we love.

Walter's automaton would bring the missive over to him while he was attending the injured before the upcoming fight. He simply offered a light nod after reading the missive "We had many that deserted for they succumbed to cowardice, pointless accusations masked behind excuses. But life is short to hold grudges. We must stand proud with the ones that stand with us, and honour the ones that believe in us. With Field Marshal's puissant expertise, let us hope and do what we must for Vikela to prosper." His monologue was interrupted by a quiet wince of his patient, he cleared his throat before continuing his duty.

The Duke of Maehr'nor read over the missive and looked out of his palace's window at the Golden Tree mentioned, burning along with all the memories his people wished to make with it. He then glanced at his desk, covered in multiple small letters of ideas and wishes the citizens of Maehr'nor wanted him to implement. With a heavy sigh, he gathered up all the letters. "Win or lose, these wishes will come true" he declared. He placed the letters inside a wooden box, locked it, and moved it to a safe location as an act of promise, ensuring that those dreams would not go up in flames as well.

"It's an invasive species." Rerek the Luraki invader thought to himself, having given the order to burn it.

"This man's skills with his blade shall never compare to his skills of the tongue. I have heard more false crap from his mouth than from the very arsehole of a horse itself." The Ingesøn muttered, knowing they would win this war.

"His head will be displayed for all to see."

Timothy sat, reading over the missive with a heavy sigh. Picking up his wee blade and shovel he looked up from the missive at the beautiful nation around him "I may not be a citizen...but if you are to go down fighting, I will go down with you"
