THE FUNERAL OF THE WINTER STORM

The Land of the Scattered Sun’s era of strife draws to an end, just as the silent coming of Winter ushers a bitter chill across the realm. A decade has passed since the Sakura first burned, and it was through the noble sacrifice of a few that countless beings may now yet thrive. In accordance with the Way of Heaven, the Koyo-Kuni Shugonate shall honor the dead befitting the Warrior Class.

 

A STATE FUNERAL shall thus be held for those citizens who had selflessly sacrificed themselves in the name of the state. In the tradition of Nichi-Jin, a public cremation and ceremony shall be held within the heart of Sakuragakure, hosted by the Yasu-Tori. It is humbly requested that in preparation for attendance, those who would honor the dead prepare for themselves sticks etched with personal prayers and blessings for the departed. The fallen include: Shugo Kato Oijin, Koteshi, Haneki and Ser Morganjin of House Helvets.

 

Too shall the MATERIAL WILL of Shugo Kato Oijin be administered and distributed unto those who had been recorded to receive such. In the event that the listed names are unable to attend or receive their share of the late Shugo’s will, they may seek Ugokoyama Danzen to receive it at another time. Failure to lay claim to any of the Will within a TWO YEAR timeframe shall result in confiscation by the State. The recipients are thus:

The funeral will be held Thursday, July 18 at 6 PM EST within the Capital of Sakura-Gakure.

 

 

 

 

THE FESTIVAL OF THE SPRING BLOSSOM

To herald the return of the blossoms and the thawing of the Winter Storm, the Land of the Scattered Sun is proud to formally announce the ASCENSION CEREMONY of Ugokoyama Atsuko to the status of Shugo. Those of the Warrior Class and the Shōya are expected to attend and affirm their fealty to their new protector; in the event of schedule constraints it is mandated that these Samurai and Shōya issue these affirmations before the ceremony. Too does the State extend an invitation to any Citizen, Ally or Foreign Dignitary who would wish to extend their respects to the Shugo-sama. It is noted that to receive a private audience, a befitting gift must be levied.

 

Following the ceremony, the Flower Capital of Saki-Gaki is again pleased to announce the FLOWER FESTIVAL. With great reverence for Tamo-Tamo, the Flower Capital shall provide an endless stream of Sake and Grub courtesy of the Grub Bucket. Too shall the village be decorated with the colorful hues of Sakura and Wisteria, as to honor the lady Chiyoko. Too shall there be an assortment of activities for both locals and foreigners to partake in.

 

1. Kimono Sō: Ladies of Sakuragakure, and abroad, are invited to showcase their finest floral Kimonos; it is recommended that they reflect the colors of Spring. A panel of judges shall award the finest Kimono with 200 Mon.

2. Haiku-Taikai: The finest poets of Saki-Gaki, and the World, are invited to compete against one another with rounds of Haiku. Those who recite the most elegant words shall be awarded the title of “Haiku-Ō”, or King of Haikus.

3. Hana-Zumo: As is customary of the Village, a tournament of Sumo shall be held about the City Center. Each wrestler shall be given a flower to represent, and they who win it all shall have their flower planted about the city!

 

The Coronation [No Crown] and Flower Festival will be held Saturday, July 20th at 6 PM EST within the capital of Sakura-Gakure.
