Golemancy dosnt have nearly enough substance to be it’s own MA. Let people have fun lol

Another note. Original lore states only greater souls can use it. That isn't a change I am making.

That's not min-maxing. If anything, that’s maxing. 

 

This stuff doesn't prevent any minmaxing other than making things limitable: no cool Musin golemancer, no cool demon who makes hellish constructs and so on, or a mage or something similar that takes some slots. 

 

People have a strange concept of minmaxing.

 

The problem with "people want to do everything" doesn't hail from golemancy.

Man, I wish mouse people could access this lore.
Also, there's not enough in golemancy as it stands to have it be more than a feat.

If that were the case is still bad but with this you're also still adding more limitation. Fix the actual problem of golemancy and then maybe, get to this. Otherwise, this FA is just going to go more inactive, again.

 

The FA is very active and it is widely used almost everywhere I have seen. Within the dwarves the most of course. So sadly I cannot agree with your statement of "fixing the actual problem"

"is golemancy a feat or a magic" is the exact sort of bureaucratic non-issue that the lore team is paid in Tythus, LTD. Scrip ($LOTC) to adjudicate -- and here the players are, trying to do it for free.

Having played a musin for a long while I’ll have to say the lesser soul thing seems to be slapped on a lot of things and it’s just so restrictive.

for starters, golemancy is nowhere NEAR big enough to warrant taking it from a feat to a slotted magic. all of the other creation feats (sorvian sculpting, animii crafting, tawkin and atronach forging) have just as much involved with them, but are all feats due to them all being knowledge based OR only have one specific non-combat function. so, imo, you’d either have to add more to the magic or treat every other creation feat like this.

i couldn’t agree more with disco. yes, the art of golemancy does originate from the dwarves, but has been widespread for far too long to really even consider it a “dwarven magic” anymore. this is an issue that could be fixed icly like when the golemancers in vailor hunted down all non-dwarven made golems and destroyed them/rewrote their cores.

 

however, there aren’t even that many active ca golems - aaaaand without people to play golems, golemancy is just niche knowledge for a character to flex. i’d suggest that either golems get reworked or give golemancers some more to do (idk throw some runesmithing shit in there)

This lore has been denied. You will be sent a forum PM regarding the reasons for denial within the next 24 hours.

LT Management does not think this change necessary, and we feel that it may simply lead to locking people out of an FA arbitrarily. Sorvians and other Magical Feats ALSO do not take up Magic Slots.
