PRECURSOR;

Once upon a time there was a lone snowflake from the highest and coldest point of the Haeseni lands. Tired of the cold winter, the lone snowflake packed away his things tight in his hands.

He took the first southern wind, away from him home. Though he wept not, for he liked being alone.

Tumbling and rumbling through the sky, quite the journey it was for the small lone snowflake; though the Haeseni are so brave that even their snowflakes do not quake.

“Land ho!” Cried that lone snowflake, his luggage held close. For he was about to crash land upon the sandy Balian coast!

There he fell, and at first he was most pleased; till suddenly he was buried up to his little snowflake knees.

“Help!” He cried, for he was melting so; the little lone snowflake was unfortunately made of snow.

“Worry not,” Comforted the Balian sand, that was warm to the touch “You are safe here, my friend, for all Haenseni are friends and are treated as such!”

“But what if I do melt away?” He said with a hint of dismay.

“Then you will be sent to the ocean, and from there back to the clouds. Where you can snow down back in your home quite safe and sound!”

So nestled, happy in the sand, the lone snowflake enjoyed the sun all that he can. Till the next evening he turned into water, to rise up to the sky and drift back to his homeland.

THE END

[Fairytale; Snow and Sand by Svetlana vas Ruthern-Colborn]

JUST LIKE THE SNOWFLAKE from the tale, we too find solace in comforting words from friends and allies; words that encourage us and welcome us home. And just as the snowflake finds friendship in the warm sand and home in the vast sea, so too do the Kingdoms of Haense and Balian stand united as allies.

CULTURAL FAIR;

The first iteration of this festival will take place within the NEW VALDEV SQUARE AND TAVERN. There will be booths that will represent different facets of HAESENI AND BALIANESE culture so that citizens may compare the two Kingdoms and learn more about each other.

“A most blessed and beautiful beginning to this path which this kingdom follows. Let it be hoped that such may continue under our very reigns.” The Amiratus spoke as the parchment landed upon his desk, and with a smile he stowed away the invitation, pleased and looking forward to such a festival.

Upon reading the missive, Cardinal Ivan smiled as he murmured to himself, "Distant in seasons, close in friendship. I am pleased to see the people find happiness amongst each other once more. Thank the ALMIGHTY." He put the date down upon his calendar in his office. He made a note to attend, nothing brought him greater joy than seeing Canondom in comradery with one-another.

The Lady Emissar looked over her sister's efforts with mild approval. At the very least, culture would be shared from the comforts of home--these last few years had left her adverse to traveling.

Mara polished the countertop and glassware of the tavern until it practically gleamed. "Everything must be perfect," she worried to herself "Nothing but the best for our southern friends!"

The Deputy Emissar glances over the Princess Milena's shoulder, a smile playing at the corners of her lips as she spied the ornate parchment on the desk.

"We ought to prepare some fine gifts for them," she thought aloud.
