The Primeval Times

 

 

An excerpt, from the ever talented @Zarsies' ever wonderful Rewrite of the Aengul Wyrvun, detailing the events of his release from his eternal prison and subsequent purification from Iblees' corruption in his time as Ondnarch through the efforts of the Dwarves:

[!] . . .and by foolish hands Ondnarch was released in the south of Anthos to war against the dwarves once more. The conflict spanned decades until a final battle once the runelords found the ice dragon’s bane in the very stone he escaped. Channeling its power, runesmiths ensnared Ondnarch before King Barradin and laid him low, breaking the draconic shell to bind it within the City of the Mind and unwittingly purifying the aengul. Wyrvun thanked the gathered force and drifted to lands from far Kal’Ithrun in the early 1450s. 

 

This was an event that will soon be closing its 11th IRL year since its occurrence, that's a lot of time.

A LOT of time. Enough time for barely any of the actual players that partook in said event to probably still be in the server.... But during some silly dingus' (me) quest to find as much lore material on sweet lovable Wyrvun around 10 months ago, with the incredible and extremely kind help of the Dwarf Community and @Cpt_Noobmanspecifically, I was given links to actual recordings and videos of that "Primeval time of ancients", showcasing the very event that lead to such a historical lore moment.

 

With the channel itself seemingly having many other such recording from other moments in that same eventline as well entirely different ones should it pique anyone else's interest. And with all that said, please do enjoy the show!

• 1:43 - Arrival within the caverns and discovery of Odnarch's Crystal
• 7:25 - Arrival within a spider-infested section of the cavern
• 11:35 - Arrival upon an entrance to Ondnarch's lair
• 20:30 - Battle for the Liberation of the Dwarves' spooooopy-infested city
• 31:13 - Ondnarch is spawned in awaits the dwarves for battle deeper within the city.
• 35:19 - The Dwarves' (and friends) forces arrive upon a sealed gate as Clan Father Lord Igor Ireheart battles with Ondnarch, his weapon; King Barradin's Hammer creating cracks upon his corrupted shell slowly.
• 36:04 - The gate is broken open, allowing the forces to assist in the battle against the Corrupted Aengul at long lasts.
• 37:20 - Odnarch is vanquished, at the cost of Lord Igor's life.
• 39:40 - After momentary technical difficulties, Ondnarch's corrupted shell comes undone and Wyrvun is returned.
• 41:30 - Wyrvun, having been restored, offers his thanks to the dwarves, declaring Lord Igor as his Paragon, as he begins to speak with the gathered Heroes.
• 42:57 - Wyrvun offers to the Snow Elves to have them be released from the "Foul Oath of Sytherien"
• 44:00 - Wyrvun at long last exits the bloodied halls, followed by the Dwarves as they return to the surface once more.
