hello

 

today is my birthday, I'm turning 22. I've been on the server for 8 years, and have been NL of caurost for about 4 months. there are many such instances where nation leading, or community leading in general, is nothing short of a part-time job, but I can only say this community has been an absolute joy to be part of so far and look forward to where we'll end up in the future 

 

outside of minecraft NLship things have been good. I started a new job bartending, getting my motorcycle fixed, and got an exotic plant and a cool sword for my birthday :)

to put it simply, I've always desired the creative liberty of being able to build my own community from the ground up. caurost didn't have pre-existing backstory lore nor an extensive history, we're a relatively fresh face of the server that's yet to really make our mark, per se. part of it was the product of me being unhappy with my RP outlets at the time, and feeling like I was limited by things beyond my control. It's a sentiment I learned other players shared as well, which is what led me towards creating caurost, more on this in my response to jihnyny

my dad actually gave all of his swords to me and it's what started my collection, and from there on it's just been gifts from other people. some of them are meant to look a bit rusted, others are just burnt bc they were salvaged from a house fire

maybe this sounds really self-aggrandizing but I'd say my main aspiration for caurost is to break the status-quo, because I genuinely believe nations are one of the best outlets for RP that get incredibly underutilized and miss out on so many incredible RP opportunities. I'm not sure how exactly this will be done, or if it can be done, because unfortunately normalcy is very appealing to the average player and it's what makes nations so prone to being isolated and hugboxy

honestly I think that if people enjoy the server to whatever capacity there is and they aren't hurting anyone it's not my business, so I've just never really given it the thought. I'll probably grow out of it one day though

I would have never became a zar'akal bro that has been my biggest regret in all my 8 years of playing, feels like I lost such a good character to such an awful CA. u already know why tho ur probably tired of hearing me yap about it

 

alternatively I would have taken the time to figure out Galahad a bit more before playing him, he's a pretty solid character but something about him feels a bit lacking but I can never figure out what it is

might be kind of a non-answer but pinterest is my go-to, I have a ton of boards just purely dedicated to creative writing and world building and that's basically all I use
