[A THANKS TO BARCARDI!]

I loved the cave builds, really added to the underdark feel of the map.
I feel someone was jealous they couldn't just blatantly metagame  the location to feel as main LOTC persona.

the caves were cool until it felt like they were actively being changed to protect a player group and provide them a hidden entrance into their lair beyond their build region

So what I have been told by bacardi when they made the more recent changes within that area of the cave was that they where dissatisfied with out it came out after practice and improvements with other parts; so they sought to redo it completely by adding more tunnels and another one of their interesting vaults in that area.

Viable explanation, and it's completely possible that this was their intent - but whether intentional or not, the big changes still had an impact on RP investigations and scouting (from what I've heard - at least.  My character hasn't been in those tunnels since she learned of the existence of your coven hidden within them)

Either way, misusing staff permissions doesn't make you an evil person

So let me break this down as easily as I can,

Section 1, as denoted on the maps was a mess. It is by far the oldest part of the cave, and was created in a rush to test if my theory worked; that is why the extension from the Haense to Hyspia region was extremely damaged and poorly constructed; this was a persistant theme which I had been working on fixing, hence why the Numendil entrance had reworked assets - because it was a larger project to deal with. I'd been scouting the viability of reworking the Haense to Hyspia section since December, but the complex nature of that system would be a nightmare to restore to practically old assets - so it was scrapped, reworked and part of the assets relocated because A: Less Work Load -> Higher Input and B: It's a cave designed to get people lost underground.

There was also the issue of the original designs being poorly spaced, which blocked an expansion line I was working on which would've diversified the cave system in a more compact space without extending into other regions giving players more opportunities to stowaway, ambush or otherwise. This was originally found from the rear line from Vault 3 having issues to return back into the Hyspia region bar one space which sat too close to a settlement. Even with the current state, it was still at 50% completion as I wanted to expand it further.

As for the regioning, this was extended and supported with all involved bases. I hold no horse in this race, I do not roleplay with either group and my only interaction with them with my personal character was involved with tracking one of their bases - this is where I discovered both were subject to extensive mini-map, x-ray and spectator abuse to locate key points of entry and access routes. So, I did what any responsible person who cared about the quality of life for those in that situation would do and actively worked on systems to counter these exact things. (False entrances, dead end keypoints, blocking visual signs involved with door functions, architectually supporting vantage points and misleading routes)

If people have an issue with the placement of their entrances, which would be open to everyone, maybe they should consider investigative roleplay instead of /rg info? Spy work, tracking, stalking, observation points. All exist as viable options.

This just confirms you took the route of a vigilante with pex to give a player group advantage over others with your world build perms

People who use freecam and whatever else are lame, but that shouldn't be the excuse for you to break rules too

I didn't start playing around in the caves until about three days ago honestly. The vault plot was really interesting to me, and it is hard for me to get into staff events, so I am really saddened that it will not continue. Thank you for adding a new layer to the map, figuratively and literally. :D

Might have broke the verbatim rules of regions and how to handle it as a staff member but it seems like he’d been given kinda free reign to run the tunnels as his own lil thing, since it was his own thing.

Understandably staff shouldn’t show favor to a certain group/playerbase but the way he aided the group was in a creative way that doesn’t take away from roleplay by any means, only adds to it. More than likely if the situation was handled the normal route than people would get warnings etc but the base would still have been found and located using the unfair methods listed. Suppose some valid criticism could be that the lair is now slightly bigger than the normal but I just see it as a creative way of fixing the problem. If people don’t usually get that type of support against xray/wallhack people that’s a shame because honestly that seems like the cool way to do it.

@Barcardi Should have built more dragons/beige gray dimension doors for the ST, maybe you wouldn’t have been shot you nerd.

he was given free reign to develop the tunnels in a fair way not to pex abuse and play vigilante (im a pex abuser so take this with a grain of salt)

I also don’t see how what bacardi did with the caves in relation to the lair innovated any rp all it did was make it a minge fort

also if bacardi made me dragons and gray dimension doors they would have been promoted to ST build manager but I guess when u hang out with villains like @femurlordyou’ll end up turning into the bad guy
