Lo to the people of Burgundy, our new-forged nation amongst the company of former friend and foe, of many downtrodden or former downtrodden. We have come together in great construction and showed equal feats of unity, but ever does our task persevere. This missive is penned because of a great and ever-present need within a nation of Man, and that is a need of heroes, of champions, of warriors of great renown.

 

Let us show our strength and capabilities, let us earn the respect and acknowledgement of each-other, and let us do this upon a battle-field which entails not the horrors of war, the loss of homes and treasured family. The knightly order of the realm seeks its first champions, those mightiest among our fledgling nation who shall be its bulwark, who shall represent it in pious and virtuous valor.

 

People and peers of Burgundy, send forth your mightiest, but too send forth those who wish to prove themselves. The path to heroism oft reveals the path to the brightest future. Hence, thus we declare, the Burgundian Game shall begin.

✠ T H E  G A M E ✠

 

Upon the selected eve, the newly constructed bridge between Alba and Grense shall be blocked momentarily, for it shall be the locus of our great Game. Vassals and citizens of the realm shall submit themselves to a pool of participants, which will be split into two teams, facing each-other in martial combat upon that very bridge. The winning team shall be split once more in the same manner, and fights shall repeat similarly until there are only two combatants left, whereafter their final duel will solidify the winner of the Game, the sole undefeated warrior to attend. 

 

The splitting of the teams will be determined by a seeding devised by the Kingdom’s military experts after the finalization of the signups. Fairness will be prioritized, in order to emphasize individual performance even amongst a group setting - a highly prized attribute in true battle.

 

This winner will be conferred the title of the inaugural Champion of Burgundy and accompanying artifacts, and the right to petition King Tiberias with favor for a title amongst the Chapter of the Heroes. Even amongst those who are defeated, exceptional performances in rounds and high placements will be taken note of by His Royal Majesty and the Knight-Commander, and confer the potential of similar benefits. But undeniably any performance shall solidify the standing of the represented faction within the Kingdom; hence, attendance is encouraged.

PVP, any kits allowed except for horses. No popping, effort will be made to avoid accidents. VC availability is requested but not required for participants due to the team-fight nature of the wargame. No /revive, downed = out for the round, though downed players may still advance by being on the winning team.

 

16 attendees would mean an 8v8, then a 4v4, then a 2v2, then a 1v1. In order to round out numbers, top performers on the losing team as judged by game-runners may advance. Please sign up if you wish to attend, more than 1 or 2 people trying to join at the last minute will make the seeding and fair team distribution unrealistic.

 

Even if you aren’t experienced in PVP, signups are encouraged! PVP is chaotic and there are always underdog stories, and the seeding system makes it very likely that a low-seeded player will end up in the final 1v1. Showing up reps your faction if nothing else.
