Bad faith isn't just someone being hateful for the sake of being hateful. It's almost never that. No one is sitting around planning on discriminating against LGBTQIA+ people just to be cruel. Discrimination always comes from the belief of one's own righteousness. Bad faith is exactly that.

 

Ultimately, all the lore is fictional, and can be rewritten on a whim. It's not like this is a real life religion. Bring in a Messanic figure, send a new aengul to make some clarifications, retcon it in.

 

FYI, I am a woman, and I converted out of Roman Catholicism, so my 

catechism is irrelevant to me.

 

I do not bring my own identity IC, none of my characters share my irl sexuality. But even if I did- you can bring your identity into game too, just not the parts that infringe on other people's existence. No one is saying don't be religious. Just do not use your religion to block other people from having a seat at the table.

 

We aren't trying to crush you. It isn't persecution to ask that you make space for us. The fact that you think it has to be one or the other, that each side is trying to crush the other, is very telling of your own world view. Is it not a balance now? We get to exist without being discriminated against in the server, and so do you. I don't see how that is imbalanced.

 

I think so, I will never be able to convince you that preventing discrimination isn't a bad thing, and you won't be able to convince me that discrimination should be allowed on the server.

 

Not a lot more to say here, I think I've communicated my POV effectively at this point. Not a lot more to say on the topic that hasn't already been said by others!

Well yes, change could've happened IRP and was obviously happening IRP (there sure as Hell weren't any civil unions in human countries prior to like 2023, 2024, can't remember which - that's like 14 years of anti-precedent - until it happened like last year), but my point is that none of this will invalidate Canonism, as much as these gleeful elf and magic RPers may wish it would (and indeed, they've already been celebrating that throughout this thread).

 

You can change the lore and rules of the server as much as you like, but you can never invalidate the only thread of lore which has remained consistent from 2011 'til now. The only way to do that would be to wipe the entirety of history since Aegis. We do owe a great debt to guys like Viros and Cracker that they wrote the Scrolls and the dogma in such an adaptable way, but they were also building upon what came before, and it's all worked out because (contrary to retarded Elven belief) Canonism isn't just "crucifying gays and pagans in Minecraft" but a rich theological tradition which puts their years of omphaloskeptic antics to shame.

The point of this whole post was just to cause controversy; they won't lock it. Admin team needs the server climate to be unstable so they can ban the players they want gone without too many eyebrows being raised, or to hide it behind some screen of righteousness. Many of these players are bad for the community and do deserve to be banned, but personally, I think they should just ban them and take the criticism for it, instead of trying to obfuscate what they're doing. No need to make up rules to ban people from Minecraft servers, just do it and move on.
