Aggressive Surge [Tier 3] ADDITION!!!

 [Combative] 

[Cantrip]

 

Lash - Over the course of (3) emotes, a druid may call roots and stems to gather near themselves to form up a long vine or tendril to be used as a whip. They can command it ONCE to strike up to (2) targets that are within (12) meters and in line of sight, so long as each target is no further than (3) meters away from one another. This strike will tear through skin and Light Armor causing lacerations & bleeding, though against Medium/Heavy Armor or prosthetics it will impart force equal to that of a strong kick- knocking the target(s) away or off balance. After attacking, the 'Lash' plant will unravel into normal flora again.

 

REDLINES:

- Lash costs [2] combative charges at the start of casting.

- Lash requires [3] emotes to use [1 connection + 1 surge + 1 cast].  This must be unimpeded, i.e. not distracted, attacked, or defending themselves.

- While targeting, the Druid casting Lash must have line of sight in order to strike accurately.

- Lash will never grapple or hold onto a target.

- Lash cannot strike the same target twice in the same cast.

 

EMOTE EXAMPLE:

[1 - Lash] The druid peered around the tree he was hiding behind, stretching a hand to the dirt below him. Crimson flashed in his eyes as surrounding roots & stems rustled.

 

[2 - Lash] The rustling flora collected & coiled together loosely akin to a long beanstalk next to the Druid. Motioning with his hand, he looked at the two cans of beans- each perched upon a fence post. He reeled his hand back, the whip of mish-mashed greenery following his example.

 

[3 - Lash] With a spring, the collected vines thrashed forwards to swipe horizontally at both food items & their metallic shells. They were flung off their posts, dented as though each can were kicked with great force, the whip of flora coming apart shortly after to rejoin the earth.

OOC Reasoning:

Just gives Druids another option to pester people at a distance, since they seem to have very few spells that do direct damage. I know I am not the most certified to write this up, so let me know if it is good shit or dogshit 👍

Emote Examples were thrown in, specified what happens to the whip after 'Lash' is used, increased how many combative casts it uses.

I would make it cost 3 combative cast uses. just to balance it out.

Made it cost 2. Fits nicely between Ensnare/Trip and Crush. Thanks for your input!

I love the extra opportunity for a more distance combat approach in Druidism, I think it will fit into certain peoples play styles much better if they don't prefer close-range attacks all of the time. +1

I understand Lemonke's feedback but your response and reasoning is completely valid.

Druidism, as it currently stands, only has access to two (depending on interpretation) offensive spells. Aggressive Surge (Trip/Ensnare/Crush) and Awakened Fortitude. Even with the other feats, the best we're given is a Fae animal companion to fight alongside us.

 

We desperately need more methods of using our magic in combat. When we're a deific magic semi regularly targeted by MAs/CAs of substantially higher offensive capabilities, we need some means of meeting that threat besides slAyeRStEEl. 

 

This would be a great addition. Thanks boss.

If you are specifying a kick back you should mark how many blocks the ability would knock someone back or not.

good suggestion, but I ain't gonna make them remember a 5th number in the same spell.

its about as powerful as a strong kick, Hope this helps

I’d recommend just adding a redline stating that then when we were initially attempting to get the initial write passed we had a lot of comments from LT to restate information like that.
