Mod-Tech project led by one of the main organizers of the physical build for the current map being brought in to maintain it and cache things for next time. What he does extra is up to Squak.

And as far as expected duties, these things are either mods (landscars), implementation (datapacks), or just don't happen due to confusion on who between the two handled what (road blocking, pillar moving, etc).

this is one of the like, two things mods actually do.

do mods have any jobs now other than stopping people from arguing in looc about powergaming?

this sounds snarky but it's a serious question, i genuinely kinda don't understand what mod does anymore other than put people in toddler time because most of its jobs (like writing rules or issuing bans) seem to be outsourced to admin-only or a megaconjunction of all teams.

its still not entirely clear to me what the purpose of the map team is

TL;DR fix the map when it gets ugly, keep travel lanes open and the immersion datapacks working, and make sure we don't forget everything we just learned from this map dev (worldpainting, biome coloring, etc.).

I have seen more ST builders fix roads and land scars and other stuff than mod team. But thats also in part because I can only see those reqs so idk. it just seems a bit weird to me on the whole construction here. First several weeks and still from map launch, builders have been helping and fixing things.

This sounds like it falls more under build team? Are they going to have a say in this, as they’ve got the greatest grasp of design?

we dont need a 5th staff team w/ duties that can easily be done/given to Story Builders- Or already ARE handled by Story-Builders & Tech. I really don't understand why this team was created

I mean, it’s my approach to map making and ability to worldpaint, plus knowledge of everything that would go into map making that I shared and collaborated with the others involved that brought us the map. Even with the lack of criticism I have seen some criticisms that I’ll take on to improve, and have idea of my own and additional builder plugins or mods I’d want to utilize to deliver an even superior version of 10.0, Coupled with our experimentation of palettes and possibilities of custom biome colors which was a first for all of us building with, I’d say I’m more than capable as well as others who I train up.

in short, “I” and now Fimlin have the greatest grasp of everything that went into this current map dev along with how to improve upon it. And we are build team by the way.

whilst technical knowledge is appreciated and welcomed, we retain the baseline knowledge and technical skill we elaborated only a portion of in Fimlins other post detailing how we went about making the map.
