  1. 1. Should players be able to create architects on their own, for a mina fee? These would only be usable on tiles those players can build on, or on unowned tiles.

  5. 5. Should architects be available which act as catapults, ballista, or other ranged siege equipment? If so, would you prefer these have the current system of siege equipment handling (where players click on a sign to aim the piece of equipment), or would you prefer these be aimed by a simple point-and-click in the direction they would be fired?

    • Yes, and they should be the same as current siege equipment mechanically.

if artillery is mobile via architect and uses point-and-click aiming instead of the far more difficult to use sign-based aiming we could have artillery actually be used in field battles.

for no. 5 i think it should be either or. some builds wouldnt make sense for the current siege stuff yet some would be able to work pretty well.

I only voted no for #8 because I don’t think it should be a singular area, or accessible via CT. It’d feel OOC and like a minigame.

I’d feel different about the “idea” if it were multiple areas on-map. That way no one nation of PvP goons could hold the entirety of the area down and people have options.

Being on map means it’s a little more grounded in RP because it requires physical travel to and from and is in a physical location people could meet you to and from there.

Just add a 10 minute soul-stone blocker after entering the region of the mine so people can’t soulstone out and have it only tick-down while they’re logged in.

*Assuming this idea were to be more fleshed out or discussed.

I think the rest of the changes regarding architect kind of speak for themselves and don’t require too much discussion post polling.

I just wish we had mythicmob/model engine to create actual, mechanical siege weapons:

The only thing Id change is make the siege equipment architects so people can place them on their defenses and have them actually work during warclaims and maybe even have some work on main. (Block effects would be disabled on main)

While mechanically aimed siege machines sound cool, I don't think the juice would be worth the squeeze. It would be used by like a handful of people, most players very rarely interact with siege equipment.

imo development should be put into how architects in general can be more accessible & benefit more players instead of niche functionality, that tbh sounds like a pain to implement and maintain.

would it be possible to just have architect buildings be like... permanant? until disturbed, at least. that's kinda how i thought it worked. i wanted to be trailer trash coasting from middle of woods to middle of woods in my carriage/smogger/wahtever.

I really do encourage being able to use more architects. My friend and I love spending time and roleplaying in the tundra, bringing others and activity with us, but we're too few for a lair, so the tent architects have been incredibly helpful for having actual structures outside of the one abandoned village. Keep it up Aesop!! :D
