Blood magic and templarism.

 

Templarism is not cool anymore.

Blood magic is in a desperate need of a rewrite.

3rd Place.  Blood magic. It's done well for what it is but I'd like to see is expand beyond what it's used for nowadays, which is commonly just churning out ensorcelled weapons.

 

2nd Place. Voidal Illusion. Too freeform and very hit-or-miss. It needs clarifications and to be made more user-friendly.

 

1st Place. ALL of the shaman pieces. Shaman is a great niche concept though it is in dire need of a rewrite, reformat and update in terms of mechanics and vibes.  It's a shame it's been overlooked, given how pronounced and varied the playerbase is. The lore freeze means that all rewrites are by default denied, but my spirit gremlins need JUSTICE. 

 

Honorable mention. Mysticism.. It's aged like a fine wine and is one of the last loregames posts still accepted, but its abilities need an update to bring it up to speed with other magics of the same field outside of the combative ones. Doesn't even need a fullblown rewrite tbh.

I'm going with Shamanism as a whole.

Farseer specifically used to be a magic that was about story-telling, and narrative crafting that existed within a contained biosphere (Orcs). Post-Loregames though it has become a magic that provides a defined list of spirits, and what XYZ effects their blessings have. It has also breached containment.

Truly, we have lost the plot.

underwhelming probably bloodmagic, but thats purely how people use it (enchant spam)

in terms of unfun, voidal illusion, i've only seen it being used to do illusion of making you feel/think like you just broke your arm and that doesnt seem fun

I think in terms of needs a modern rehaul, probably shamanism

in my head it'd be sorta like how naz has their slots set-up, 1 slot for base, then the rest of the slots can be picked and choosen from for different things like curses [Hexing], blessings [Blessings], healing [healing], voodoo [bottling curses/blessings, voo-doo dolls]

I think each spell could name like up-to 3 aesthetics/ability like things within, each slot 1 free pact so if you take all 4 sections you could take up 1 additional pact to buff ur favorite section;;;;

Shaman Healing [Requires, having HEALING slot]

Akezo - Healing done by a shaman pacted to Akezo allows for more mundane-like healing, however cant give limbs
Scorthuz - Healing done by a shaman pacted to Scorthuz allows for healing of one's soul, at great pain to the person being healed, can heal malflame burns and curses such as corc & lycan
Gazigash - Healing done by a shaman pacted to Gazigash allows for limb replacement and stuff, however these replaced limbs come with random ailments

just my idea of how it could work though
