[Amendment] Soundproof Earplugs

They do require an item to use so not doing so is PG. That said, since most of the endgame CAs have abilities that disable the casting of the entire battlefield with sound, it's not surprising that groups would carry earplugs in-universe

lector technologies of ear muffs and plugs are okay if they’re an item and prepared properly. any good combat noob should know if they go “it doesn’t hurt me” and can’t produce an item they get obliterated.

earplugs require paddfoot. they’re the same as blisterbark. not salt. they reward preparation against therian dark ca’s and romance rpers (azdrazi and bardmancers) 

 

as someone who has earplug items and keeps them on me,

 

I use them because sound based disruption abilities are insanely busted. disconnecting sounds are everywhere in lore & they counter nearly every single spellcaster, allowing for powergaming knights to continue dominating CRP by exploiting a lack of written limitation to their durability 

 

can we get it so full plate armor has to be st signed & equipped in combat?
 

getting a little tired of people powergaming mace hits to the chest, generally more exhausted about that than someone having a defensive protection against 48 block radius two emote stunlocks

This is a weird hill to die on; earplugs dont require anything excepted a signed item. Nothing says they have to be made with paddfoot, and if you call a mod they'll only really care that its earplugs represented by a real item. 

 

It's somewhat good faith, ig, to use paddfoot. I've only found 4 nodes and its not like there's been a few months for people to farm the nodes so that its not an issue to have indestrucible, un-expiring earplugs they can mass produce, right.....?

 

be real. the cost, at best, to make 1 lifelong eternal unbreaking pair of earplugs is 1 paddfoot. It takes mulitple months to get the thing that requires people to need earplugs. You do the math.

I made a low pass filter joke item for my machine spirit but never really bothered trying to use it to fight a wight or whatever.

 

however a 48 block radius omega stun is kinda dumb but at least its real lore vs “oh we had earplugs in :) [no items on hand]”
