As a victim of book copy mods I agree. Ban book copy mods.

The process of it is deadly simple: access to a book, even through a locked bookshelf (the ability to read said book) allows for its immediate computation through the mod

My only note is that the ancient bookreading plugin where the book contents appeared in chat was lowkey goated

Book copy mods are primarily used as a means of preservation without spending literal irl hours in a 2nd job simulator copying it all by hand, brought about into common use by the massive amount of bugs that erase these books from shelves constantly. Like buggy shelves have destroyed probably tens of hundreds of books permanently so it is general practice these days to ensure you have backups of everything.

Breaking into someone's house to like mass-copy all of the books in their personal locked storage or whatever is probably not something that should be allowed though.

I dont mind the first part I agree!! But I've had the second happy to me last map and I've also seen ppl literally take what I've written and sign it as theirs.

Agreed. I have started to just copy it over by hand as of late. As much as I love archiving I was informed pretty recently how scummy it is

I was there for this, I miss it honestly, I was a really cool and fun experience and I enjoyed it a lot more than reading through minecraft books, for whatever reason. Reading through an account of a battle against a voidal tear back in the library or Llyria will always be a core memory.

I think the offense this post is describing should suffer a MINIMUM 3 months long ban on the first offense. If you are installing a book copying mod and distributing stolen books signed under your name, you know what you are doing, and if mods won't do anything I will gladly pugsy you and burn all your stuff- don't try me, I've already proven I'd do it.

(If any mods take this as intent to pugsy and want to punish me for it you are thereby admitting to thinking this is fine and shouldn't be punished btw)
