Deleted User 009 0 Share Posted November 20, 2011 Hey Aegis, Today I'm going to quickly talk about a NGM (New Game Mechanic) that we've added today to complement the skilling system. I call it the credit system. Basically, all users are given 75 credits by default; each credit is worth 1 skill level and you can distribute them however you wish to start shaping your character. New Commands: credits: description: View total current skill credits. addlevel : description: Spend credits on stat levels. We added this mechanics after it was suggested and widely accepted in the forum poll we posted earlier today. Basically, this will allow players who have written their bios to start out with skill sets that match the lore behind their character. So if you're RPing a farmer, you can have level 40 farming, level 20 lumberjacking, and level 15 archery right off the bat, rather than having to grind forever just to get those starting stats. This update will also eliminate issues with players who say "there's no way to get started" since you need wood to start; if you choose not to spec into lumberjacking enough to use a wooden axe, tough luck! You must be good at something if you've speced all 75 points, so work your trade and make some money. At this point in time you can only get 75 skill points; however admins do have the ability to grant players more, and I'm sure it will soon find it's way into our donation shop as a new benefit. (The ability to purchase these skill credits in exchange for supporting our server). The skill credits are non-refundable, after you use them on a skill they are gone forever, so choose wisely! Taiga 764 Share Posted November 20, 2011 Much better improvement upon the skills system, albeit the inability to redistribute them. Hmm... I'll be a swordsman/jack of all trades, just for the fact I must do massive amounts of work..
Flynn 31 Share Posted November 20, 2011 Awesome, as usual creation.

Voak Thailen 28 Share Posted November 20, 2011 Does the archery skill work yet? It would make sense for me to use some credits on that, but not if the skill doesn't affect anything.
moondoggy 27 Share Posted November 20, 2011 Will the skill levels and block breaking requirements of certain tools ie. you need iron to break sandstone stay intact?
Hydra 515 Share Posted November 20, 2011 I like the idea but you should be able to reset you points like if your cheracter dies you make a new person they might not like fighting

danic 352 Share Posted November 20, 2011 Do VIPs get extra credits? *Daniceyl ponders over this for a moment, before replying* No, I don't think they should do this, for it would show favoritism, making it seem like they care more about the VIPs then the regular player base.
Willy 70 Share Posted November 20, 2011 i think 75 skill points is a bit much, in my opinion it ruins the skill system
