N.G.M | The Skill Credit System

Let me dumb it down.

Moar VIP Perks= Moar People Donate= Moar Money= Better Server= Happier People= Moar People That Recommend The Server= Moar People= Moar People That Donate- Cycle Keeps Going

You get the picture.

That seems like a really arrogant way to view the server. The GMs are not concerned solely about money. If you want a bunch more rich people on the server just to donate, RP will go out the window. There will be loads of overpowered players and all of the people who can't donate huge amounts of money will be powerless to do anything. Those who have spent ages RPing on this server will be wiped out by the rich people who just want a leg up over everyone else. As the "cycle continues" the game will not get more fun, it will get more unfair and unenjoyable. The way the system currently works is better than having to buy your way into society... There's enough of that IRL

And dumb it down... really? That's just wrong. And now I shall stop raging and go to bed.

Guess i'll throw in my opinion as well...

First off, nobody should donate for perks. They are perks for this reason. Donate to help the server, not be better then the other guys. I know that's not how people look at it but it should be.

Second, from what I read, You can't level the skills right now. So anyone who donated to get skill points would forever be better then the guy who can't afford to donate. A way of leveling the skills would fix that. I agree that no OOC action should ever effect our IC selves but the server does need donations to survive, and granting certain perks keeps these donations comming in. But that doesn't mean that a donator is any more important then the rest of us on the server, and giving extra skill points for RL money would show otherwise.

And finally, I like pie!!

Thank you for your time.

After another HOUR of dealing with my own stupidity, all is fixed now.

Vaq don't be hard on yourself, you just bought us an event and an update in a couple of days! You're amazing, thank you. :D. ((but I am gonna have to wait until the morning to level me self up - damn lucky Americans. :P. ))

*Shrugs* Think of it this way, you donate blood, they give you a wrist band. A few weeks later, now they give you a wrist band and a cookie. Just because you gave blood before doesn't reserve you a cookie. To get the cookie, you'd have to donate blood again. Understand?

I understand but this is a bit different than blood and cookies. I'm fine with VIPs not getting extra credits it was just an idea.

This. You donate because you WANT TO, to help out the server.

Donating only for the sole reason of getting perks, is stupid. You don't want to turn this awesome server into a money hungry server, that only cares about VIPs.... And, the nice community, into rich people, or spoiled kids, who can just buy everything, while the rest are left out in the dark...

Let me, then, "smarten it up".

People do not have money to donate to game= those people not donating = people who do have money and donating being far superior due to OP donator perks = huge divide between donators and non donators = resentment and dissent spread amongst the lower members who as aforementioned cannot afford to pay for frivolous benefits = members leaving LOTC because of pure idiocy.

Cycle eventually stops when people have migrated elsewhere.

I personally invested points into wrestling, if this is true I think that members should get refunds of those points. If putting points into something does absolutely nothing then that's just a waste of the points that are severely limited already.

But, I'm sure you got my point. Sorry if I came off as a little rude :)

My biggest complaint is the ability to buy power. No game ever should allow players to buy power over other players. It's also a massive RP-killer. How do you explain the difference between a young Knight who worked his way from the bottom up, and a fresh soul that payed $200 and is a Legendary Sword Master 5 minutes into the game.

I personally think that if you donate you should get more points. I think this should be limited though to things like mining, farming, cooking and things of that nature. Or just give vip's the ability to have more than the 200 something levels. So they still have to work for it but have the ability to get higher. I understand where everyone is coming from on the don't want to have a lot of rich people running the server and that people should donate for the good of the server but not the perks. That would only work in a perfect world scenario. People are lazy and they want things that they don't have to work for. I also believe there should be some way for everyone to either get more credits or raise there overall level cap.Maybe paying minas for it. Those are my thoughts you can take them or leave them.
