After another HOUR of dealing with my own stupidity, all is fixed now.

You found it. That's great. Still kinda interested, what caused the problem. Like most of the time in programming the bug seemed rather random, so it was probably a faceplam moment, when you found it.

As a crusader against Mary Sues and OP characters, I must state my opinion. Buying skills is absolutely NO GOOD!

First of all, it's a Mary Sue enabler. It allows a person to play a powerful character without working for it. If a person can just throw money at the server and make themselves the best in every skill, they can play a server-sanctioned Mary Sue. It's no good. If you want to be good at something, you have to work for it! That's realistic roleplay! You don't just drop into the server and become a master swordsman in five seconds.

Also, it's metagaming. Why? Because you're using OOC information (donations) to empower a character IC. It's no good! No good at all! It's server enabled metagaming. I don't care HOW much money you donate - it shouldn't allow you to break the rules!

I like the idea but you should be able to reset you points

like if your cheracter dies you make a new person they might not like fighting

This would be abused in a most horrific of ways.

"I'm going woodcutting, let me skill to diamond axes"

"Farming a sec, going herbalism"

"kk my sword broke, let me spec pro wrestler so I can punch in this heavy armour"

"There's a war?!? Let me spec swordsman and get a diamond blade!"

Just say no to the suggestion of being able to reset skill credits.

I think that donators should get additional points as part of their VIP package.

It should not only be new donators, that doesnt make any sense.

If you dont like the way donator perks are set up, and think they're "OP", then you are disagreeing with the server rules and might as well just move on to the next one where everything is free and the gameplay environment sucks.

Consider this: Before I even bought my VIP package I had VERY high levels in a lot of skills. How fair is it that after 4 months I start with the same skill levels as someone who joined yesterday?

More perks = more donators = more money = more content.

Good for everyone, even the non-donators.

*Shrugs* Think of it this way, you donate blood, they give you a wrist band. A few weeks later, now they give you a wrist band and a cookie. Just because you gave blood before doesn't reserve you a cookie. To get the cookie, you'd have to donate blood again. Understand?

One must wait 8 weeks between whole blood donations.

Sorry for double post but this one popped while I was writing. You realize that right now you arent arguing against the proposed stat boost for donators, you're arguing against the entire donator scheme. A well accepted rule and mechanic on this server.

Just because some people cant afford to buy VIP status, doesn't mean that the current and future donaters (such as myself) dont deserve a little boost for helping the server run and keep everyone having fun.

I've heard this argument before, only it was "No one likes the feeling that since they can't play X hours a day, they're inferior IG".

That's just how it's going to be. There's always going to be someone better than you. You can't be on the top of the mountain.

I like how earlier someone mentioned donator ranks maybe being how many extra credits were given. A bedrock donator would get +200 and be able to spec fully right out the gate. I only see a bit wrong with that...

I mean, a bedrock donator already gets (among other things)40k minas, and a 100x100 plot to build....anything they want. That's a pretty massive advantage over 'those poor people' who can't afford to donate, but people aren't mentioning those aspects.

But I will acknowledge maybe a full spec right out the gate could be a bit too strong. Maybe 'too strong' isn't the word, but they don't get to experience anything about the skill system if they already start off at max level.

I think it would be pretty cool if your donator package got you +1 credit/$2 spent on the package. That would be one more awesome thing that increases the server's coffers, and bedrock donators would only have 175 points, and while they may be an amazing whatever, they'd still have to work on their other skills.

P.S. I know everyone's talking about people who just come out superpowered from the temple, but consider this..... I don't spend my credits.... I grind out 25 points in a weapon of my choice. Now i spend those 75 credits. I am an 'instant master' in whatever weapon I choose, since the first 25 ranks you could get in a couple days, but ranks 90-100 are likely to take a few days of constant grinding PER LEVEL to complete. I feel the credits just lend more to character diversity than they do to buying power with dollars.
