The Death of a Prince

*You find on the Laurelin notice board a large note written on the finest Elven paper with a flowing Elvish script, the ink appears to be of gold. The note reads*

A few short weeks ago our beloved Prince Mylas was cruelly taken from us when he died on, Joma, The 27th of the Amber Cold in the year 1338. He died from a fatal wound to the neck, which was caused by a female assassin, and a fellow Elf. She surprised Mylas and held a blade to his neck, whilst threatening to eat him. Mylas was unable to defend himself from her blade. I, Waywatcher Amethain, saw this happening and ordered the Elf to release the Prince, telling her that she would be dead before nightfall if she so much as nicked Mylas' neck. She viciously gashed Mylas's throat open and ran for her life. My arrow flew into her unprotected back as she ran towards the Gate of Laurelin. I chased her into the woods near Laurelin where she stopped running and begged not to be killed. I was saddened to recognized her to be an old friend of mine, Belyn. She said that she was pregnant, though it had not begun to show physically. I informed her that I would kill her for attempting on the life of Prince Mylas. She then began trying to scare me asking me if I was a child killer, if I would kill an innocent child. I pulled my blade from its sheath, my face ashen as I prepared to kill an old friend and possible mother. I asked her to kneel facing away from me so that she would not see the stroke fall. She refused and began to run again. She had lost much blood from the arrow wound in her back and did not get far. I said my final good-bye brought my blade up and let the stroke fall. Her neck severed, she fell to the ground dead. I left nothing to chance, I swung my blade once more and separated her head from her bloodied body. I left her body to decay in the woods and once again be claimed by nature or to be miraculously saved by the monks of the Cloud Temple. I returned to the city of Laurelin to find High Princess Indelwehn and I asked of Mylas' health. She informed me she that did not know, and we raced to where he was being tended to. We arrived to find Prince Mylas pale, and weak. Prince Haelphon was cleaning and binding the wound, but I knew it was too late. The Elven council and I gathered around his bed as his life slowly drained away. I assured him that the assassin had been taken care of. Prince Quazar, and High Princess Indelwehn both asked me to ensure that the populace of Malinor knew that if Belyn returned she would not be welcomed and that she was banished from all the lands of Malinor. I left knowing that Mylas would not last the night. Once I had returned to the Northern gate of Laurelin I heard a voice inside my head. I did not understand what the voice said, but I swear it was that of Prince Mylas or a shade of him. A short while later I received word that Prince Mylas had died. The rest of that terrible day I found the different members of the council and informed them of the dreadful news if they had not heard of it already.

I have not seen the High Princess since the murder of our beloved Prince Mylas, but I believe that her grief over Mylas' death far supersedes mine or anyone of us.

Of all the council Prince Haelphon took Mylas' Death the hardest. He could not be consoled by anyone, not even the love of his life, Valer D'Avore.

There will be a small ceremony honoring the Prince Mylas, and his funeral will be held in a week or two. ((Tonight at 5:00 or 6:00 PM/17:00 or 18:00 EST -5 The time might change)) All Elves, save those banished from Malinor, are encouraged to attend Prince Mylas' Funeral if at all possible. Even if you are not an Elf you will are welcome to attend the Funeral and honor Prince Mylas.

Mylas - A rare form of troll. Recently forced to extinction. Noticable by it's heinous acts of seemingly unique humour and shaggy blonde hair and beard.
