I do not know of the structure of the Oren guard in Galahar, but over in Alras we have a predetermined system for shifts and patrols. Thus, no guards are cluttered and the city is evenly guarded.

Pay is also dependent on the amount of shifts completed. Those who complete no shifts receive no money, simple as that. It roots out the slackers and provides incentive to do their job properly. Perhaps you could adopt a system similar to this.

The Viceroy set it up, contact him if you wish.

OOC: I was running around for quite a while, if anything I remember the start of the fights and also I had sent a raven during the initial fight so my squire was keeping tabs on me as I sent messages during my times of rest, such as running away from ((Idk who he was but he had an orc skin)). Whenever my squire messaged me after my death I roleplayed it out don't worry, he asked where I was and I said the cloud temple then he told me what I had told him before. Everything was roleplayed out, with no intention to break the rules, he was just never able to assist me and was only keeping tabs on me.

I agree, as fun as it was to chase the axe-swinging orc down the road, more armor breaking with every strike, it took quite a toll on my armor. We need a better way to defend things.

(( During GMT times there's loads of Oren Guard running around. They keep the law, as do Cerlos, myself and some other people. Yeah, we may not be soldiers, but Cerlos is the steward, and I'm his guard. It's organized enough at GMT anyway ))

*wishes he knew about the GMT guards* sorry about that, the only guards I ever see are ones that a punching eachother and ignoring criminals..
