The Eagles

Our History.

((Please keep in mind I am changing this lore, when i get enough time to do so properly.))

We originate from a world beyond Asulon, A world where the Roman Empire rules and dominates over everyone and everything. We were the elite fighting core for the Emperor himself and swore to protect him with our lives. We fought his wars and one him votes. We gained him more land and thus more power. We had total respect from the people of his Empire and were feared by those who opposed it. We were The Eagles.

The power we had achieved went to the Emperors head every scroll, every painting, statue or temple was named after him. The children of the Empire began singing rhymes of his conquests and it was at this point We realize that we had all but been forgotten. The Roman army, the very backbone to the Empire had been forgotten and us with it. Our Ancestors saw the Army as a way out of poverty into fame and glory, but this Golden age had been replaced by one of greed and selfishness.

The Imperial General staff of the army organised that the Obnoxious Emperor be laid to rest and sent on from this world to the one of fire and pain. I myself was a well decorated and experienced Legate of the second cohort, The Eagles. Unfortunately the gods seem to use some sort of divine intervention by placing a mole in the meeting. Thus we were found out and the army's leaders (including myself) were rounded up like common criminals and sent to the Circus Maximus. We were made to fight undead beings and living skeletons day in and day out, the lucky ones perished in the first few days as it only got tougher. Each day a piece of our armour was removed and our weapons seemed to get shorter and blunter.

After what seemed like a life time in the arena me and three other Legates were awarded the wooden sword. We were set free, but banished from any land owned by the Emperor which, because of us was all of it. So we hired a ship with what little money we had and headed to the only destination that we could. The edge of the world. We sailed through the storms of Jupiter and the waves of Neptune before plunging off the very face of our planet into the eternal Abyss.

We woke at the cloud temple of the Monks in what they called the world of Asulon. We gathered what meager supply's we had and began our long journey to find a place to settle. We found that any town or City. Any nation we set foot in just didn't feel like Rome. Not to say that we missed Rome, for we hated that uncontrollable dictatorship, but we had spent our whole lives fighting to civilize the world and now we were plunged into the middle of what we would of called 'Barbarian wasteland'. No one seemed to have the main say, but instead it was a frenzy of wars and misunderstandings.

At first we resented this idea of so called democracy, but as the days went by it grew on us. We decided to pool all of our resources into the founding of a new, organised and fair regime. One in which everyone could have their say. We would offer ourselves to anyone that would let the Red flag of the legion fly within it's borders. I took on the role of leader , but the ideas of an Emperor was demolished and we would call council and meetings to discuss our plans. We had set up a fair, just and logical regime we felt honored to call The Eagles.

I will be changing the rank system soon

Militarian Ranks

Imperial General - This is the head of our Organisation. All laws and ideas cannot be made permanent without his input and say on the matter unless the General has the backing of two of the three legates. During battle The Imperial General has ultimate say on the matter, but will leave most of the decisions of war up to the General as he his usually occupied with other matters.

The General - Is the Imperial Generals right-hand man and will discuss any laws or plans he has for The Eagles with him.(although as I have said before The General may pass laws if he has the backing of two of the three legates. He will be the main leader during batlle, but like the Imperial General will not actually take part in it, but instead leave the job of guidance during batlle up to his Legates. Although they will still be following his orders.

Legate - There will be three Legates, one for each cohort. Although during the guilds early stages there will only be one Cohort. The legate is a well experienced veteran who must be well trained in swordsmanship as well as being a clear-minded leader during the heat of a battle. The Legate must follow orders given to him by those of a higher rank, but has the power to promote Legionaries, Optios and Centurions, with a quick heads up to the General and Imperial General.

Camp prefect - The Camp Prefect is a grizzled veteran who has seen many a battle, usually he/she his highly decorated. The camp prefect is in charge of the making of forts and the discipline and organisation of each century. The rank of Camp Prefect is not given easily and usually people are promoted to Legate instead. This is more a sub-rank of a Legate, but is a very valuable position to The Eagles.

Chief Centurion - The Chief Centurion is a hardy man/women and has earnt the respect of his fellow men/women and seniors through hard work and dedication. The Chief Centurion can still be in charge of his own Century, but will mainly oversee the other Century's and guide them during battle as best he can. Also the Chief centurion is in charge of deciding the fates of new recruits ( see Auxiliaries ) .

Centurion - Is a very experienced individual who has served a fair amount of time under The Eagles. He/she is in command of a century and has the power to command them within his orders as best he can. The Men/women of his century respect him and will gladly follow him to their deaths. The centurion must put himself between the his men/women and the enemy at all times. Also the Centurion has the ability to nominate a legionary from his/her Century to be his/her Optio, after consulting the Legate of the cohort.

Optio - The Optio is the right-hand man of his/her Centurion and will have proven themselves in battle or in Admin work, filing, organisation etc. They will stick out from the Century as loyal and determined. The Optio is to take over the Centurion if he/she falls in combat or from other causes.

Legionary - The Legionaries are the backbone of The Eagles and although this is the first rank, it is a very good position to be as you are honored and respected by lesser-mortals ( and lesser-un-mortals) who failed to pass training, They must follow their Centurion without question and never disobey an order.

Auxiliary - When a new hopeful is signed into The Eagles he/she must first pass training to test their ability's. From this training the Chief Centurion will be able to decide whether they are put into the main Militarian Rank system, the Speacialist Rank system or are dismissed as un-reliable or weak.

Specialist Ranks

All Specialist Ranks are of the same Prestige and take orders from anyone above and including a Chief Centurion. They have the chance of promotion to the head of their trade, but apart from that will stay much the same.

Armourer - The Armourer is The Eagles Blacksmith and must be able to smith Iron tools and Equipment.

Cook - The cook must be able to provide good quality food whenever is necessary.

Surgeon - Is the Wounded Soldiers best friend. The surgeon must be speedy and relatively good in combat so that they can heal men and women during battle.

((I will be adding more info on law and purpose at some point in the near future aswell as an application form. I worked really hard on this form and it is not finished yet so please no hating it. If something isn't right can u Pm me. ))

((You cannot come from another land....And this is just a very cheap rip off of the Roman legions. Even with the lore the ol' Arena and slaves win the wood sword is quite..."Bad" If you're going to make a guild please make it original..))

((I'm sorry I didn't know That we couldn't come from a different world, i was just trying to make an original guild, with original ranks and so forth, so as you have said I will change it but please acknowledge that this is my first post on it, I haven't edited it yet and I am just trying to use my knowledge and interest of the Roman Empire to bring a new and unique RP'ing story to LOTC))

Kind Regards.

((I am sorry if I seemed mean but just please make it more "Yours". We don't really want exact copies of the Roman Legion. Maybe create just a basic Legion that's "Based" on Roman culture etc but with different names etc.))

((I would say, have them from this land, but say a lost ship, from Aegis, ship-wrecked as the others did, but miles away, because of the storms ahead, in this land, over the 15 years of Asulon, you have gained a strong empire, but now, you venture south/north/whatever, and you find the other races, still intact, and this will lead you to have your reactions.

Oh, and this 15 year growth = Roman Architecture/culture/etc. ))

These Ranks doesn't add any uniqueness to Asulon, since they are already very similar to The Servilex rankings, the guard and army of the City-state of Rienna. The Servilex is not purely out of Roman Rankings, we try to keep it as original as possible.

I'd appreciate you changing the rankings so no misunderstandings may occur.

Sure thing man, I wouldn't want there to be any confusions, and i didn't realize that the ranks were already in use. I'll change them completely once I have edited the lore. Maybe so that they fit in with the lore somehow.

This current Guild has been deemed inactive and has hereby been moved.

If you wish to appeal this decision you must present evidence to myself proving the guild is still active.
