A Renatus Court

 Share

Recommended Posts

We have succeeded thank you for your support. If you wish to find me my name is Zaroth. I trust all will be well in the kingdom of renatus. Go the court! I also ask if i may help at all with the court? As i did campaign for it?

Lord Kashi:

Having considered the needs and wants of the citizens, a courthouse is now under construction. It will in fact be the first building within the government district and is due to be completed soon, assuming we do not run short of resources.

Myself and two others are currently working on devising a system for judges to work by, and soon there will be a need for judges I would think, though no promises. Inside the courthouse there is to be a hallway and two courtrooms. The smaller of the two for minor cases and the larger for major cases. As soon as the system is fully in place you shall be made aware of it.

All prisoners and criminals will be entitled to a trial at their request, assuming a judge can be found although they will have to remain in the prison until a trial is arranged. Any guards not adhering to the law system will be punished according to the severity of their action(s).

I would like to apologise to Lona on behalf of the Council and the Military for any mistreatment which she suffered, it was wrong to treat a diplomat - even a citizen - in such a manner. I would be happy to talk to you further on the matter if required, otherwise I hope you can accept a humble apology.

Should anyone have any suggestions or questions on the new law system, please do let myself or another guard or Minister know. We are here for the benefit of the people.

Please do note that the new system is not yet in place, so ease be patient.

Kind regards,

~Alvarius Kashi; Minister of Economics

Tylos replies to Zaroth.

She was let out, I have no idea who sent the order but if I find out I'll try and find out what she did exactly to get herself under house-arrest. It better be a good reason.

Tylos walks off to investigate.

((EDIT:))

Tylos comes back.((Lazy emotes FTW!))

It wasn't a good reason at all. Lona was arrested for helping Rio when according to the Similan, the guard that arrested her, she didn't. She did do something that deserves a small fine or a very short sentence, not getting off her house's roof when asked(again he told me this), but she was kept in her house for weeks((When is asked her later how long she was in OOC, she said she was in for 2 hours IRL. That's just completely unreasonable.))

((P.S: If something is inside () instead of (()), it's IC.))

*A long note is posted on the Renatus message board.*

"I got out from there after many weeks of being trapped inside my own house. I'm really displeased with how the guards both arrested me and treated me before, under and after the arrest. I know which guards who did this to me and I can name then one after one. Some may say that I did wrong aswell, but is it wrong to express my opinion? I never did anything physically. I also didn't get a legit reason for why I was locked in. What would it give? Rio had already left many days before that. And the reason one guard gave me; "You're locked in because you can help Rio escape.". This is outrageous. He had been gone for days and I don't accept this as a reason."

"This is and will probably hurt Renatus relation with Malinor and I expect a real and legit apoligize from the guards who gave me the punishment. I will hand in my report to the Head Diplomat later so you can still have the chance to change how harsh I'm going to be."

"I will be in Normandor since I do not want to be used or put in arrest again. If you need me urgently, send me a bird. To violate my rights to be able to attend and leave reports as a diplomat will not be looked at as a joke. The guards who gave me this punishment should be punished in some way and I hope the higher ranked guards will see take this very seriously and try to change how the guards are working. As I have said many times, "The guards should protect their citizen, not harm them with punishments and investigations.". With that said, I'm done.

-Lona"

Aye, your completely right. We need to focus on the nation and cease concentrating on this war.

Josef is truly and genuinely shocked as he first hears the men talking, then reads the note pinned to the board. He feels embarrassed remembering how distant she had seemed last time he spoke to her and how he didn't do anything. Feeling a sense of urgency, he scribbles a note to the Elf on fine parchment and sends it away with a bird.

Dear Lona,

I am shocked by the behaviour of the Renatus guards. I beg that you do not see this as an offense committed against you by the whole kingdom, merely a guard who will have to be... dealt with. I am truly sorry about what happened here, and any possible repercussions this will bring. Please respond.

From, Royal Scribe Josef Timothee.

Josef sits for a long time, seething at what he feels to be blatant recklessness and foolishness of those involved. Finally, he nods and speaks to himself so quietly he can barely hear it.

Something will have to be done about this...

Josef grabs his bow, and arrows, sword and best armour. He leaves his house and heads out into the night...

In recent times Lona has been currently forced to remain in her house for helping a convict. This is clearly not true. Lona did not help cause any of the crimes which where committed by rio and did not support rio in doing so. So why have they improsened her for doing nothing. You may think you don't know Lona and how this concerns you! This concerns the war deeply! Lona is one of the few elves who support renatus. With her help we could try and persaude the elves to support renatus against the child butchering hanseti! If you want a chance in the war against hanseti then we must get Lona freed from her imprisoment! If you wish to help please reply to this notice.

The guards seem to be arresting candidates who could help renatus in the war, is this susipoucous or am i making things up!

((So true, i don't think they will again?))

*Lona gets the note and sighs before sending the bird back with another message.*

"Yes, I agree with you Josef. The guards who was involved in this should be, as you said, dealt with. I think I can count up to three guards and members of the navy who was involved in all this. I really doesn't see what it would give to lock me up and preventing me from handing in my diplomatic report to the Head Diplomat. I really can't see what I did wrong. I would also like to speak with someone who is in command over the guards to make sure that all guards involved in this shall be dealt with. With this all in my mind I will have to figure out when I believe it is safe for me to return to Renatus."

"I have been trying to help Renatus in many years now and then this happens. It makes me feel like the murderers in Hanseti have right in many points. I absolutly don't want to support Hanseti or anyone who supports killing of innocent children, but they actually seem to have been correct in many points about the Renatus guards and military. Since I haven't recieved any apology from anyone who was involved yet I'm still very disappointed of how the guards are dealing with it afterwards."

"It have also come to my attention that the guards has been lying about what I did while in the house arrest. I was never on the roof under the house arrest. I was on the roof just before the arrest and I never got any warnings. Instead they kept screaming how stupid and blind I was. If this is how the guards treat real criminals, then I could understand why they would try to flee."

*Lona looks up on the large tree in Normandor and smiles before whispering to herself*

"Atleast I'm safe here..."

First we must end the war. You have to ask yourself what is at stake? With the war, the nation is at stake, with these petty crimes, a few minas are at stake. However, we do need to institute a court system and it should be done after the war.

Hmm, tell me who these guards are, well if you know their names. I'd be sure to speak to these guards. ~General_Huron

*Lona sends away a bird with a note with the names on. The bird drops the note outside the prison inside the military ward.*

"As I said, there was around three guards involved in all this. The one who arrested me and later on harassed me, Similan is a member of the Imperial guards. I believe he is the one to put the most blame on... The other one who was there at the arrest was Cadet Oscar. I really can't put much blame on him due to his rank, but he still harassed me aswell."

"What surprised me the most was that Axl didn't see anything weird in the arrest. I spoke with him a few times under the arrest and he did apologize for everything, but he couldn't find any good reasons neither for me to be arrested. I wasn't allowed to have any visitors, even though I had done nothing wrong. I do believe Axl should be somewhat lesser punished than the Similan which haven't apologized at all."

"Haelun'or will be my home until I feel safe coming back to Renatus.

-Lona"

I never said you were arrested for standing on your roof but I arrested you for helping Rio. I asked you were Rio was and you said he left. I locked you up in your house so that you couldn't warn Rio. I don't know were Tylos got that information but it's false.

*Lona sighs*

"That wasn't a very good apology, Similan. So you arrested me to prevent me to warn a criminal which fled the nation many days before the arrest. I'm disappointed. What would I warn him about? After the threats you screamed to him, I don't think he needs any warning. Give me a real reason or make an apology. I'm a very forgiving person..."
