Re: ''availers'' Post.

My unbiased opinion is that things just got out of hand and snowballed out of control. I was never in to the day-to-day operations/finances of the server, but I can say that Availer WAS a bit of a hardass at times. To some, that was part of his charm though.

I personally liked the guy, and I attributed any snark to him either being tired of dealing with negative folk, or just not having the best of days. In game, he popped by my shop a couple times, he was often around alkhazar and winterfell, it just felt good to have him around.

I know it's likely impossible, but I sure would love to have those old days back. See Availer running around and RPing again in the new world, but it seems like nerves are too frayed on both ends for there ever to be an amicable end to this. In the end, it's still mostly hurt feelings and he-said she-said.

Availer was mad to see HIS project/thing/cash cow stripped away from him.

Vaq was mad to see what he had put so much time and effort into coding being driven into the ground by a mostly absent 'boss'.

Not to throw out rodney king here, but can't we all just get along?

And sinstrite donated alot as well for minecon, but i am sure he will let you know lol

I love the server, and could tell just as well as anyone else on the server how it seemed to have been dying, it was a relief to have heard some type of logic as to what was going on.

Honestly whatever happened happened, i dont really care, the server is doing better, more updates, in a more timely manner and with greater detail, and we seem to be striving quite well as far as game play and community from my perspective, so whatever actually happened, as there is no real way to believe any single story without having been there, it seems to be working for us, and to me that is all that matters.

I love the server, and all i can say is the only admin/gm/etc that i feel i can truly trust and believe is Native, however I do hold great respect for Vaquxine, and appreciate all of his hard work

I'm on the fence about this. The hugest problem with this entire situation of course is that you two are the only ones who really know what happened. That said, I'm inclined to think there are faults on both sides.

And not to rain on your parade Vaq, and obviously I know very little about coding, but if we use things like worldguard or falsebook you can't claim to have coded every single plugin on our server from scratch. That part hopped out at me and I felt compelled to say something about it.

In the end however what truly matters is that our community flourishes. Availer is totally right; we're dwindling now. Not as many members (although I suspect fast travel will remedy most of that), and people are less and less excited about RPing. If it were possible to set things right and perhaps even bring Availer back onto the development team there could be a great change.

However, you can't expect somebody to calmly take having his ownership of a community of thousands of members, which he started, watched grow, and become huge and flourish under his fingertips stripped away. So when you say he caused drama, flamed GMs, I seriously don't blame him. The guy was pissed off. No matter who's fault it was, I'm sure he felt usurped, used, ripped away without warning, etc. With that in mind he should be unbanned immediately.

*rubs his forehead* Meh.

I dislike the way this was handled, I would also be annoyed if something I put that much time and effort into was just taken away from me -the same way Vaq felt when he was not getting anything out of coding.

Perhaps if you asked for some people to be given more responsibility, so that major changes could be made without the consent of Availer, this could have been avoided. He is the founder and did put a lot of work into the community. I personally found him down to earth with an apparent love for the server, I hope his post is a sign that he misses this community and hopefully something can be worked out.

To Arik, "Dwindling" is a poor word choice, as we're doing better now than we ever have in Asulon. And are neck-in-neck with Super-Earth as far as average players on. And they don't even have a whitelist.

We're still one of the largest minecraft communities in the world. I think the added difficulty with Asulon may have driven some players away because we've added many restrictions and limitations to allow for more rewarding game-play & long-term enjoyment

Being someone who was absent during the entire battle, this post was very useful to me.

Thank you Vaq. In a way I sympathize with Availer, losing 'his creation', but it looks very much like he was weighing down the rest of the server and causing it to falter.

Just know, I think you did the right thing Vaq.

This server does not make nearly the amount listed, nor does it make enough to pay the GM team regularly.

In the past the GM team was gifted a small bonus, but only with advertisement money, and now that ad-blocker is more prevalent we make less than half on advertisements

Wait, GM's get occasional bonuses... Er... To me that's kinda wrong feeling. We need all of our money to go to supporting ourselves. It should be a voulenteer job, and non-profit.

I hear you on this, I have seen players always say "DON'T JUST DONATE FOR THAT, GET AD BLOCKER". Most people don't realize that Adds are what usually pay for most Websites they go on, and using ad blocker is a form of Ruining the payment another is suppose to receive. I believe someone should Rid away with this "Ad blocker". Who ever this person was doesn't realize how this server manages to stay on, and how Some players make it harder for certain things to happen on this server.

I don't see what the issue is here, I stated clearly that any payments are funded by advertisements. Not donations. Some of us don't have jobs, and are struggling. I literally have 60$ in my bank account.

I will most likely get a job within the next few weeks, which will hinder me from being around as often as I am
