Pok walked into the War Uzg, holding a large leather sack under his right arm. He looked around making sure no humans had followed him here. He quickly ascended up the stairs to his home in the upper class district of Strigzgoi. He slammed his shoulder into the old door, opening with a loud thud. He kicked the door shut behind him as he walked up the stairs to his bedroom. He took the sack from under his sack and poured the contents onto his bed. He looked it over carefully, counting each and every item. Mask, gloves, boots, tomahawk, it was all there. He grinned, satisfied with Dakr’s hard work. Dakr has always proven himself a loyal servant Goblin, a very smart one at that. Dakr had made Pok a special kit that would help him hunt the infected and cure this ‘plague’ once and for all. Dakr had told Pok that it was vital, whatever that meant, not to get blood in his mouth, eyes, or nose because then he would get sick. He made Pok special gloves and boots that he could tighten at the ends. Dakr said that these were to keep blood from getting under his toenails. Pok groaned as he tried on the boots, he always hated most forms of footwear other than his sandals.

Pok tossed the mask over his face, breathing slowly. He blinked twice and looked around, everything was red as blood. He grinned, Dakr must have stained the glass in blood just for him. He looked down at the rest of the contents laid out across his bed. Lying there, shining in the fire light was three elegant golden tomahawks. Each hatchet was crafted expertly by Dakr for the sole purpose of throwing. Pok could throw one of these at an infected and stay far enough away not to get infected. He then noticed something else, a tiny silk bound scroll. Pok picked it up and read through it. It was a kind of instruction manual.

The War Uzg Standard

Plague Survival Kit Issue #1

The Mask

When curing an infected, one must worry about the splattering of blood over oneself. In order to prevent this, I have created a mask specially fitted for all Orcs to wear when hunting and ‘curing’ the infected. This mask will cover your eyes, nose, and mouth and keep you from inhaling, breathing, or swallowing the infection. As a result, you will be able to worry less about curing an infected up close.

The Gloves

Orcs must worry about the blood entering your body by crawling underneath your fingernails. I have made these gloves specifically to counteract that. You will be able to punch an infected as well, which I know most of us Orcs would enjoy, thoroughly. You will also be able to retrieve your tomahawk or throwing knife from the body of a dead infected without much worry of catching the disease.

The Boots

While walking the ground that the infected have vomited, coughed, and died on an Orc must worry about catching the disease. No longer will this be a major concern because of your new pair of boots. These boots will also allow you to step on somebody's throat without hesitating to think about the risk of catching the disease.

The Tomahawks/Throwing Knives

The most important part of fighting the Infected is distance. Stay as far away from them as possible while still curing them. These specially made tomahawks and throwing knives are almost guaranteed to do permanent damage to an Infected and in most cases, cure them in one strike. The tomahawk is made from the finest of gold from over very own mines and the dagger made from the finest diamonds, also found in our own mines.

Pok looked at the note and shrugged. He slipped on his protective gear and prepared to hunt for some more infected. He left his house, tomahawk in each hand, and descended the stairs and strode toward the east gate. He stopped for a minute just before leaving out the east gate. He turned on his right heel and looked up at the notice board. He stared at it for a minute and then began scratching something on it with his tomahawk.

((how have orcs suddenly become susceptible to diseases?))

(It's powergaming if we aren't plus it takes away from the RP. And this disease is constantly growing and getting stronger.

((You might also want to talk to the monks, they set me up with some very nice plague protection gear of their own.))

Orcs don't get sick. That's established lore, not power gaming.

Since when could we just invent a plague-proof suit so quickly? It's literally been 2 days, and we know very little about the disease. Why not go through the stages of worry, panic, desperation, development, AND THEN come up with a suit that MIGHT work. This is why there's no orc RP. What's an immunity suit going to do for RP?

This is pretty stupid. Just because it's in the lore it's not OP? Mind you, orcs wrote the lore; so it's obviously going to be biased. You may argue that orcs are far more isolated, and that they have more active immune systems, but not that they're in the slightest, immune to disease. Blue ****ing whales are susceptible to disease; and they've got a few hundred thousand pounds on you.

The thing is with the suit, it isn't at all 100% Plague-Proof. The entire point of the suit is to keep blood or vomit out of our eyes while we are "curing" [killing] the infected ones. That doesn't mean at all that it works.

Overpowered =/ powergaming. Powergaming is doing something your character can't do, or enforcing actions on another person. Also; it wasn't made by orcs, it was made by the founding creation lore of the server. Humans are the only ones highly susceptible to diseases. It's part of the curse of mortality. Orcs, Elves, and Dwarves are highly resistant to disease. Immune, no, but highly resistant.

Exactly, for us it might feel more like a cold or even chicken pox. But we wouldn't necessarily die from it like other races. The only real reason for the masks is that fact that it keeps us [kind of] from catching it so we don't have the disadvantage of being sick during a fight. [[]]

Gronkk follows behind Murkash on all fours, chuckling deeply in a low rumble.

Dey amz juz' afrayd dat dem willin' nub ged da Gronkk. Eur hur.

((Freya clearly stated that Orcs are simply less likely to catch the disease, but still can via blood consumption, and will die just like any other race if they catch it.))
